i think i made it through every darkest hour album yesterday besides the eternal return and human romance. gotta say i still really do not like self titled, it starts and ends strong but the mid section is full of so many missteps

Oddly enough those are probably my least favorite albums as well. Eternal Return isn't too bad and you can tell they wanted to get aggressive again after Deliver Us and Norris' departure. I wasn't super interested in Romance and the self-titled is just meh, they signed onto Sumerian for that one.

i really like eternal return but human romance is probably the one ive spent the least amount of time with for whatever reason

    if i absolutely had to...

deliver us > godless prophets > hidden hands of a sadist nation > undoing ruin > so sedated, so secure > mark of judas > eternal return > human romance > self-titled

XM Radio’s Liquid Metal station is playing a live concert of Code Orange. They are actually pretty decent. The funny part is they keep referencing Hardcore a lot which is pretty cool.

code orange sounds good live but they look so fucking cheesy and over the top on stage its almost funny

I watched a video of them from like 2012 at a vfw in Cambridge, and it's so funny to see how reserved they are haha

I have pretty much the same list except I'd put undoing ruin at barely number one for many different reasons, some of which only make sense to me lol. Judas, return, and human romance are all kind of interchangeable.

And let's just pretend like self titled never existed. What an atrocious piece of work.

Here's an EP from Glacial Tomb. They're a sludge/black/death band made up of one of the dudes from Khemmis and an ex-member of Abigail Williams. It's pretty gnarly, heavy, and grimy stuff:

no problem. i'm just opinionated and snarky on a lot of things related to loud music, but as i've said before, i'll never put anyone down for having a certain opinion about a band one way or the other.

if you watch the web series of them recording godless prophets it sounds like the label had a LOT of input on the self-title record. glad they left sumerian and went back to southern lord
