BTBAM are hosting Liquid Metal on XM Radio. Played some cool tracks so far by some cool bands:

It's this venue... Gas Monkey Dallas
They have metal shows there all the time, but nothing as sacrilegious as this that I can remember. It's not really a place frequented by old people, but the Gas Monkey moniker does bring in people that are there just to eat because they like the show/cars and aren't necessarily there for a concert. There was a group of 60-somethings that wandered around the side patio to smoke and were watching the show from there. Most of them were looked pretty concerned but one of the women was ironically headbanging. It was pretty funny. I restrained myself from videoing Watain holding up a goat's head and then pan over to the 60 year old woman headbanging.

They were throwing "blood" on the crowd, but it appeared to just be water, which was a good thing because I was the only person not wearing all black.

I'm generally not a fan of bands airing out their dirty laundry in a public forum like this, but it's pretty clear that Keene needs some help to get his demons sorted out. I haven't been a huge fan of the band since Planetary Duality...but it'd be nice to see him see his act together because the dude is a good singer and a hell of a shredder when he's at his best.

Love me some Dawn Ray'd and their cheesy violin. They toured the US a bit last year or in 2016...it'd be nice to see them make it over to this side of the bond again.

Oof. Figured I would share this since I know there are some Inquisition stans here. All of this is fucking horrendous, and Weirbach should be excommunicated from the metal community as a result. Without even commenting on the Nazism allegations, I have a few questions:

-Why is this coming out now, of all times, when it's been a matter of public record for the last 7-9 years? Is the black metal community really that tolerant of heroes that they'd let allegations of pedophilia slide? Or has Jason been lucky that someone hadn't taken a look at his background?

-How has Inquisition toured overseas when he has been registered as a sex offender? Was his conviction sealed when he reached his plea deal?

Like I said, these charges are abhorrent, but I'm really curious how this all just got swept under the rug for the last few years...

The list has some pretty well known bands that were “bigger”. Prayer for Cleansing are very good but never really got to the status of those bands.

I don't know how or why btbam is on that metalcore list. Most of those bands fit metalcore to a t but others are head scratchers. Like, converge? Really? Of the albums there I listened to, sounds appropriate for the list. All very good.

 

Yeah, Converge and Botch had me scratching my head.
