Oh you have to check out Underworlds, it’s certainly more of that Entombed kind of style since I think Ulsh is on guitar rather than bass. Great record. It’s so hard keeping up but at least driving for work gives me a chance to stay updated

Yeah I was reading a review today noting how he moved to bass from guitar which made me want to go back and check out the stuff he played guitar on

Go. Because it's a distinct possibility that either of those bands will not be around in 5 years. I'm missing the Chicago area show on that run because it's the same night as Protest the Hero, but I'd be there in a heartbeat otherwise.

So many good picks. So many bad picks. Stoked for Scorched and Woman Is The Earth tho.

Today Is the Day - Wikipedia

Not a bad pick considering their longevity and how influential they are. Temple of the Morning Star is a classic.

    Hell yeah. Both bands rule.

I've been jamming Alpha and Omega recently and even though it's not the most highly regarded cro mags album I think it still jams. Apocalypse Now is a tune. Good riffs.

I'm already seeing Architects/Stick To Your Guns/Counterparts on Tuesday and Royal Thunder on Thursday, but I'll still try to make it out to Eyehategod/Cro-Mags on Friday.

I'm going mainly for STYG, but I'm excited for the whole bill. I've never seen Counterparts and I've only seen Architects at Warped a few years back, but they were one of the best bands I saw that day.

As someone who is so in love with the type of bands that draw inspiration from the style of death metal championed by Incantation and Immolation, there's a lot of their material that I still need to explore. I'll be deep diving into their discography this week. Or you can call it....spelunking.

    Get it?

Stupid reference to play off of a thread derailment in the 1975 thread where someone mentioned Counterparts out of the blue and idiotic discussions were had:

    Album - The 1975 - Music For Cars/What A Shame EP (2018)

You aren't missing anything, and I'd avoid reading it if you want to retain all your IQ points. but it made for great fodder when I was stuck at the laundromat.

I'm not sure of the origin exactly, but I'm sure the references were made because Brendan Murphy of Counterparts is a big The 1975 fan.

Ctrl+F The 1975 - There are quite a few mentions...
