Slayer announced a second leg of the farewell tour with Napalm Death replacing Behemoth, solid add.

That was the problem with their last album too. I need to give the new one a proper listen, I started the other day but then had to go out.

Interestingly, IIRC, the drummer of Oceans of Slumber also played in Insect Warfare, one of my favorite grind bands of all time. When I found out he was playing prog instead of grind now, it was a bit of a mindfuck. LoL.

Figured they would, no LA/Bay Area shows was weird. Still skipping Seattle tho lol

REALLY wish they'd announce a second date in Dallas. Tickets sold out in like 3 minutes.

I hope Napalm Death’s whole set is just them playing You Suffer over and over again.

I hope Napalm Death announces some off dates from this run. Their club shows are always phenomenal.

I saw them playing with Cannibal at a small club like five years ago and it was so damn fun.

One of my favorite things about Napalm Death is how while performing, Barney sounds like a rabid doberman gargling sheet metal, but in person he's the most polite, soft-spoken dude.

Oh definitely, I got to talk to him for a second at that show and I was surprised at how nice he was in contrast to his music. Can’t say the same for the lead singer of Immolation, that dude was a legit asshole.

That's awesome. Shane is the same way, at least in the sense that he plays in all these different bands that go hard as hell and he's like this giant teddy bear who just instagrams pictures of him snuggling his cat a lot haha.

Sucks about Immolation tho. I love their music, would be bummed if I met 'em and they sucked as people. Mind if I ask for elaboration?

Sure, so this happened prior to the show. I was outside the venue and I saw Rob from CC talking to fans, he was standing by Rob. I walked over just to say hi to Rob but Captain Tough Guy told me to fuck off and when I looked back, he told me to keep walking. It’s been almost five years later and I still won’t listen to them after that, that was profoundly rude to do.

Jeez, that's ridiculous. If it'd happened to me personally I'd probably have a hard time listening to their music again too, tbh. But speaking of CC, by all accounts I can at least say that paul mazurkiewicz and corpsegrinder are both known for being really cool and personable.

I don't know why I'm always so relieved when guys in metal bands are so nice. I guess because there's, unfortunately, a ton of douchebags in the genre.

I legit would watch a vlog about George just walking around a place and talking about random stuff. I watched some video of him at a Target scanning items for points or something and it was legit entertaining to watch him do it.

Yeah this is a good one. There's a band similar to this called Inverloch that does great death/doom that I think people here would like and they put out an album a few years ago on Relapse. They're composed of half of the member of diSEMBOWELMENT, an equally crushing death/doom outfit. Inverloch is basically the spiritual successor.

Speaking of rad death/doom hybrids, here's a quality demo from a band out of Denmark, Dead Void.

They're one of those bands that metal would be completely different without. Forefathers of grind and all related subgenres

Even my opinionated self loves me some Napalm Death. It's also amazing how consistent they've been. Their earlier material is classic and probably unbeatable at this point, but their more recent albums are pretty solid too. Utilitarian and Apex Predator got a lot of play from me when they came out.

  24. Been jamming Amon Amarth's Jomsviking the past couple days. Not as many highs as some past records, but it's really solid and consistent. Fav track is the one that almost kinda sounded like Insomnium ha.
