In a catalog of fantastic songs, Casey is the biggest standout. Especially judging by everyone's reaction when they play it live.
I'm going through a breakup, and today I sat down and really took in the lyrics to Casey today. I was sobbing by the end of the song
I’m going through the opposite. In a maybe unrequited (who honestly knows) love situation and Burn After Writing has me seven kinds of fucked up
Update: Done with my rough draft: 4662 words. Gonna work on citations, grammar, spelling, and the like over the next week or two. As stated previously, will put this up when I do my EOTY list either this week or next. Maybe I can post it on my profile so it's not a heaping pile of text in the thread lol.
From personal experience, this is the worst song to listen to if your going through a breakup lol. hold off on it for a while.
Really cool to see them on Gov Ball and Boston Calling! Would imagine they'll be on a couple other large ones
yep, feels like they've been floating just under that lower line billing on big festivals for, like, three years now. v happy for them
Wonder if they’re gonna string a tour around these festival dates. Boston Calling end of May and Gov Ball beginning of June
ATP is covered on the final episode (for now) of the sound and the story. It's a fun listen. Episode 13: The Menzingers’s After the Party — The Sound and the Story — Overcast
Cross post from the ATP thread, but I've finally decided to release my months-touted analysis of why Mexican Guitars is my favorite song of the decade. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. On the Great Pessimistic Unknown: Why Mexican Guitars is my favorite song of the decade
This is my new favorite thing. I love reading how passionate someone is about music. Casey ended up on my most listened to songs on Spotify 2 years in a row.
This band sounds a lot like the menz and is putting out an LP next month. 2/3 of these songs are on it and it’s phenomenal. They’re worth paying attention to if you like the menz
Just tuned into the live stream from Budapest. Apparently people from Romania, Serbia, and even Bulgaria are at the show. Warms my heart to see their influence spread so far.
