Oh man, am I excited for those two Boston shows! Tricky that they both go on-sale at the same time too... Gonna try for Thunder Road first, then the cruise. Fingers crossed!
Jesus, Boston tickets (the not cruise one) came out to $32. More than tickets for tomorrow night cost lol. Worth it tho
I think its one of my least favorite songs overall for them. I believe Tom sing Boy Blue, and if that's true, seems to be his most mature song thematically and is prob my favorite.
Burn is considered a top Menzingers song in general by most fans, so I would say that's probably the most liked Tom song too. Not saying the comment a few posts above is doing it, but I feel like the Chorus/AP community is more critical of Tom songs than other places in my experience. Tom is a really good songwriter imo. I enjoy most of the band's output so I'm very much biased.
Yeah, I didn't get that sense at all, so I wanted to make sure my tangent didn't come across combative haha. I was just high-horsing it for a minute.
I think it's a pretty lukewarm take. Most seem to love it, although I think consensus points to time tables as their best
I have a favorite song that's different from all of yours (guess which) but Time Tables and Burn are both fantastic
Sun Hotel # 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lots of contenders though. Chamberlain Waits, Casey, Gates, burn etc a lot more
Cool thing from last night they had a beer from nishimeny creek brewing company called "after the party" it was a dry stout with a touch of coffee, so good!
Didn't get on the stage tonight but still held the tradition and was crowdsurfing with national flag up of my head!!!what a fucking show!
Jeff's sets are kinda overrated tbh, he's a good performer but not rarefied air or anything. Bomb sets were but that was a rarely special band
I mean, Jeff is just an extension of btmi so idk. Its kind of the same thing? Especially on tours like this where he has a full full band (Dan P added a LOT and I kind of never want to see Jeff again without someone in that position). Fully agree that Bomb were a special band, but I'd much rather have Jeff shows than nothing.
So I remember picking up On The Impossible Past on a whim at Hot Topic years ago. I would go there every couple weeks back when they actually sold albums in the store and grab something random to check out. Fell in love with that album. Rented World really didn't hit me too hard up until recently when I saw them on the Bayside tour, and I kind of fell back in love with The Menzingers again. Seeing them the other night in Philly play to almost 3000 people was a really special night. My girlfriend and I have had our issues as of late, but one thing that we both did was fall in love with After The Party. I think this album being a constant the last couple months with her discovering this band for the first time and me rediscovering them...it's been really special. Not really sure why I'm sharing this but I really love this band and seeing them headline was great.
