This is what I was expecting the record to sound like. I feel like Greg has been working towards a song like this for the last few records.
this sounds like it would fit right in on his solo record. great song. still think 'Guest In Your House' might be the best song he's ever written.
Guest in your house is profoundly beautiful and honestly is one of my favorite songs ever. We saw Greg live at the beat kitchen and my wife cried during that song, I feel like his solo album kind of got looked over around here.
i have unfort just found their songwriting to be really predictable and by the numbers to me lately. like take this song for example: i thought the chorus was okay until i realized it was the chorus and not the verse and that the verse covers like the exact same melodic ground lmao, so most of the song kinda feels like nothing is happening to me. i dont think theres much sonic difference but idk the bones of these songs arent really impressing me much would l o v e more than anything to be proven wrong by the new one tho. i adore tf out of hello exile and thats a contentious record to a degree so i thought i was gonna just kinda dig everything they did lol
I wish Hello Exile had the production these 3 songs have had so far. I’ve gotten used to it, but damn would that have elevated Anna, London Drugs, etc
Also, have they just completely accepted that Greg is the lead vocalist now? Seems like all the singles are his for a while now.
yeah they def promote greg more heavily. hello exile had 0 tom songs as singles. i was expecting try to come out early it might still but idk feel like tom singles are always the non album stuff which again kinda says theyre not really promoting his stuff the same way
i understand what you're getting at here but I feel the simplicity is really elevating the latest tracks.
