I don't think there are any bad songs on here, counting the new deluxe version - I've just always felt like the original version of the album really peaks with "High Low" and then the next 2 / last 2 songs are a tiny bit of a letdown after that
Please don’t take it to heart has a decent chorus but the southern rock stomp verses don’t fit this band, imo
i definitely agree that the closer, with that title, could have lived up a little better to high expectations but, for personal reasons the lyrics really hit hard right now so, i enjoy it a lot haha my personal favorite on the album is Alone in Dublin and i'll scream and cry and throw up if they have that in the setlist this weekend but i dont expect it.
I've come to like "Running in the Roar of the Wind," but I can't deny that my initial reaction to it was "That's IT!?" Especially after I loved the closer so much on the last album.
without looking at song titles, if I try to list my favorite songs on the album from memory I'm going with "Nobody Stays", title track, "Try" & "High Low"
Having no nostalgia anthems on this was a weird adjustment at first, but I really came around to the album. Nobody Stays, Come On Heartache, Ultraviolet, and Alone In Dublin are probably my favorites.
Anyone go to any of the shows so far? Any good merch/show posters? Trying to figure out what time to get there tonight.
Oh man they are playing the second most underrated song in their discography finally. May have to make the trip to Madison for that.
Went to the Harrisburg show on Thursday, didn't get a look at the merch though. Might tomorrow night in. Baltimore though.
Agree the bonus tracks are better than a couple of Greg’s album tracks and are worthy of being the real closers
Went tonight and had a blast. Band sounded incredible. I gotta say though, I don’t think i’ve ever been to a show where that many people were bombed out of their minds. Enough where I noticed and I never notice haha.
I thought I read something a few years ago where the Menz said their guarantees for shows are higher because promoters/venues (not sure how this works) know they’ll recoup a lot of that on alcohol sales because their fans drink a lot
