Ha, glad you dig it !! Great band. Check out their previous album too, "The World's Greatest Band" - greatness
Was talking about this with @natefoundglory at the show the other night but I wonder what the ceiling is for the Menz now. They did the same 1,500 person venue in Chi that they did on last years headliner, I think to roughly the same crowd size (and this show on a Saturday, previous one on a Wednesday)
Click through for the whole thread. A few other tweets were circling around this time but they’ve been deleted.
Anyone got set times? And maybe a pic of Menz merch? I saw the vid they posted on IG has a quick shot of it, but I was hoping someone got a better shot.
Menz not saying shit is so fucking lame. another band making money off an image of being sensitive and nice who dont do shit to earn it when the chips are down. if this were a band people didnt like, the forums would be way louder about it.
I think a lot of the avid fans have been the ones to do the most legwork re: reaching out and trying to contact the band. It sucks, I’m not giving any money to them for the record and I’m not going to the tour. Idk what else I can do. There’s part of me that hopes that they haven’t seen it or that it’s a legal thing, but yeah. It sucks. I am happy with the way they handled the Tony Godinno thing, which baffles me even more about keeping CA on. I assume it has to do with the lack of traction for the tweets
Between them, those two tweets have 49 likes and 12 retweets. I just searched their name on Twitter and scrolled for about 2 minutes and I saw exclusively praise for the band. If it weren’t for this thread/website, I wouldn’t have heard about it at all. I genuinely think almost no one knows about this situation. It sucks, but I don’t feel comfortable blaming the band for not acting on a situation that has received virtually no coverage.
@Anthony_ has been sending the band messages for a long time now. Assuming someone reads the band’s dms...that person definitely knows.
Maybe they know, and if they do, shame on them. But I don’t think we can say they definitely know. One person sending them messages (or even a few people) does not definitely prove anything.
I also don’t know the legal aspect of those things. I see a lot of bands pulling themselves off of tours/breaking up when this shit happens. Can the Menzos boot them based off of those tweets?
Oh that I agree with. But my guess is the person reading the messages isn’t someone in the band. They have over 40,000 followers on twitter and more than that on Insta. I’ll admit that I’m making assumptions when I say this that also can’t be proven, but I’d be very very surprised if they were the ones checking their messages. So yeah, I’d imagine someone in their camp probably knows, but if it’s a manager/agent/etc, there’s no guarantee that information would get passed on.
Thanks. I’m going to the Orlando show in a few weeks and the venue is also a night club on the weekends and concerts end earlier than normal so they can clear everyone out. Trying to guess when they might go on.
Has anyone who’s been to the tour confirm if they’re being chummy/friendly with culture abuse? Are they doing the thing where they thank all the opening bands and say how great their set was? If they’re doing that, I would think it confirms it’s not just a legal thing keeping them on this tour.
