i also don't want to keep harping on the vocal effect but, it sucks to basically not understand a damn work he's saying on first listen

 

I’d you boost the mids and cut the bass down in the eq you can hear them better... isn’t that the point of a good mix, making you adjust your stereo specially for a record? Lol

 

Anna is really good but these other songs are mid as hell tbh

 

I think all 3 singles rip and outside of like, 2-3 lines I’m still having no problem understanding Greg. And, tbh, the lines I struggle with I’d attribute more to his accent/diction than the production

 

I don't know if I'm just more used to it but I actually think the vocal effect is better on this one.

 

This song is probably my favorite of the singles on first listen, but I really wish one of them would have been a Tom track.

 

My prediction is that I’ll like this more than Rented World/their early material but not more than OTIP/ATP, which is fine given that both of those records will probably be in my top 25 of the decade


(RW is also great, but I don’t love it as much as those other two)

Vocal effect is definitely better. Surprised to see the lukewarm reaction in here, I love it.

 

I enjoy the new song, as I do with basically everything this band writes. However, this band is at their best when there is some melancholy in their music. 'Your Wild Years' was my favorite track from the last album and I hope they write more songs that have that feeling.

 

Based off the comments, if this sounds like typical Menzingers I know I'll love it. I absolutely love America and Anna and I know I'm going to love this album. Definitely trying to hold off on this and probably the 4th released song before October 4th (or a leak).

These are definitely the worst leading songs that I’ve heard from them since I became a fan. Bummer

 

I'll be honest I didn't even know there were two vocalists lol

What's an example of two songs where each of them leads?

 

i LOVE "Anna", and really like "America", so I am confident that I will still end up loving this record, but yeah after 3 listens this morning this new song just ain't cutting it.

 

I think this is going to be an album that is meant to be listened to front to back, not as singles. This is my least favorite of the three but I'm still going to play the hell out of it these next few weeks.

Tom - Thick as Thieves, The Bars, Boy Blue, House on Fire

 

I love this song. That last little bit of the second verse where the guitar cuts out, perffffff.

 

Also - I love Tom's harmonies on the second repetition of the chorus

 

Oh, NOW y’all want Tom songs. smh

 

Very by the numbers Menzingers song but I like it. They’ve got their formula down and it works

 

Love this one as well and I like the video a lot too!

 

I've always enjoyed a good Tom song.
