I haven't worn skinny jeans in a long time. I do get slim jeans though just so they're fitted. I'm 31. Skinny jeans just don't look good on me anymore. Haha
this song rocks. yeah it’s typical menzingers but i’m not too bothered by that right now tbh. really excited for the record
haha I get that its a press release, but I love how this acts like "incisive songwriting to matters of love and romance, exploring the glories and failures of human connection" and "reflections on moments from the past and present: high-school hellraising, troubled relationships, aging and alcohol and political ennui" don't describe like, every single menzingers song ever written. I'm not complaining. They are really good at it and continue to do the same while still feeling fresh and different. Just something about that wording cracked me up
New song is solid. Hopefully this album sticks around for me. I’ve had weird feelings attached to this band the last couple years, especially the last album, so I’m hoping this album changes things for me
I would say this is a toe tapper and a bop. I like this song a ton. I don't hear the complaints on the production / vocals at all. Not even a little bit. Whole thing sounds glorious to me.
Finally got a chance to listen to the new song on vacation. My biggest complaint is that it's a paint by numbers Menzos song with their mad libs lyrics. That being said, it's a good track that has me excited for the album. These guys always deliver.
No issue with Greg using a name of a person and the name of a city when painting the picture of being lonely & separated from said person in said city.
Weird that people are getting a little hung up on Greg’s lyrics as if he hasn’t been writing that way on the four albums prior to this as well
It’s all fun and games until Greg gets too drunk at the shows and starts mixing up Anna from Philadelphia and Julie from the Wonder Bar
No, I don't think it did. Your comment is saying it is weird people are now getting hung up on Greg's lyrics because he has been writing the same way on the past albums. The critique people are making is that the lyrics on Anna are very predictable and the same old style Greg has been using on the past albums. My take: I love Greg's writing and have no issue!
