Not really any B-sides yet just some alternate versions / demos / live acoustic stuff. There is a Hello Exile bside coming at some point though
As a wide release or just as an exclusive? ATP bsides are awesome so I’d imagine these would be good.
Seems like it'll be a Patreon exclusive at least at first In my opinion the patreon has been 100% worth it
Still 425 patrons away from dropping the b-side. Hopefully there's some renewed momentum as live shows come back.
Or….Release the bside to a wide audience, renew interested the band and people signing up for a Patreon and attending lives shows?
Not expecting a b-side from an album cycle ago to make waves outside the band's existing fanbase, honestly. And I'm sure the Patreon pays the band better than streams on a single, too.
You can buy off bandcamp. I’d assume Epitaph may have release rights if was paid for during HE sessions. I get there’s room in the Patreon world, I just don’t like new stuff being exclusive the only. Live shows, chats, alt versions, exclusive stuff yeah. I just hope it’s released to the masses….like I said, bandcamp is a good sale option place. And releasing songs does move the needle, even if not to a mass audience. That’s what albums, big tours, videos and maybe inclusions to soundtracks/appearances can do.
Think we're more or less on the same page here. In this case it's not even 'songs' plural, just a single b-side that's already been offered to Patreon subscribers as a tier reward. I don't think the band will renege on that, but I would say it's a safe bet that any original material that premieres as a Patreon exclusive will eventually find its way to a wider audience, whether that's on streaming or a Bandcamp Friday release etc.
Yeah, probably. I just want it to find it way to a wider audience. Spanish Love Songs just released a couple songs (original/cover) a week or so ago that wasn’t to just to Patreon. Menzingers had Cemetry’s Garden/No Penance come out too on RSD. Having so rotting to your paying club members first is fine, but I just want to see people buying on alt sources like bandcamp being able to get to a new song as well.
they were alright last night. predictably the OTIP songs went off the most. it was pretty empty though with them opening.
Considering I'd easily pay $30+ to see Menz and NIL individually, and after all the effects of COVID, yeah I paid this lol.
I hesitated for a few seconds when I saw that two tickets with fees was almost $100, but it's been way too long since I've seen them, plus I get the bonus of seeing The Dirty Nil for the first time.
$50 is definitely a lot even in post-pandemic times, but it's a smaller venue for them so I guess I can see it. I've never gotten into The Menzingers much but I want to see The Dirty Nil so maybe I'll end up going. What's a good Menzingers album to start with?
Considering the Richmond show on this run is $32 after fees and at a smaller venue than Lincoln Hall, I feel like you guys are getting hit with that major market premium real bad here.
