Somehow I haven’t been to the roadrunner yet despite it being prob the 2nd best venue in Boston behind the Sinclair. So I am very excited they’re playing there instead of MGM
Soon I will finally learn the singers names and what songs they sing. Then I’ll be a real Menzingers Good Band poster.
Just realized this album comes out the day we move into our new home. Let the memories begin. Hello Exile came out the day I ran my first 100k race and it became it my favorite menzingers album. Damn, I love this band.
13 hours and 9,000ft of elevation gain. Hello Exile sent me on a spiritual journey to say the least. Hence my love for it.
I went for a run the day After the Party came out. I was in LA on holiday from Australia and had to get to the airport asap but ran to Amoeba to get After the Party on CD instead. My wife and friends did not support this plan and had to stall the taxi. The run was not 100km but it was certainly intense. Made it just in time. Well worth the risk, would do again 10 times out of 10.
Well the Menzingers are wrong when they say that they’re nobody’s heroes. Look at these feats of strength they’ve inspired. Wish I could add to it, but best I could do is that one time I bought the After the Party beer and listened to the vinyl. Didn’t wind up with a spiritual journey, as much as a hangover.
I had just started getting into ultra running when that album came out. Vivid memories of morning runs in San Diego listening to that album.
Tickets for Stone Pony sold out immediately. Then these motherfuckers on TM resell it for $160 (60 face).
