Great news regarding the sales. I was worried the record might not sell well since Asshole and In Remission have 500,000+ YouTube views and Lookers still has about 30,000
That's great. They deserve all the success they can get. I've seen them live only once but I'd love to do so again. They're one of what I consider to be so many great bands and they were truly a fantastic experience live. I remember singing at the top of my lungs to the vast majority of their songs. I believe I lost my voice by the time they were done playing ^.^*
It's weird with Lookers on YouTube. There is a song uploaded by the band and the label, plus the actual video. If you add the three videos it's actually doing pretty well. The Bad Catholics video is doing good too.
Found something I don't like about this album. Finally: I have still hardly listened to Japandroids, or anything else really. Just ATP on repeat. Literally have no idea if I like Japandroids yet even though I bought both albums at the same time. Like I think it's good but I might have listened five times. ATP just dominating my listening.
I'm bigger on Thick as Thieves than most people seem to be, but Tellin' Lies still wins for me. My top five in order of track listing at this stage are: Lookers, Midwestern States, Your Wild Years, The Bars, After the Party. Most overrated: Tellin' Lies (still killer though) Most underrated: Charlie's Army/Livin' Ain't Easy
Haven't made a post in a bit, but I'm still listening to this in some form everyday. The only thing that stops me from putting the album on more is that my GF isn't a big fan, but shes in Mexico for a week, so I'll probably play it to death now.
Listened through this record in full for the first time yesterday, and holy shit. I have no idea why I ever thought I wasn't a fan of this band.
It was 65 degrees in New Jersey yesterday and this album is much better in warm weather with the windows down.
at this point, I think this album will transcend the seasons. but yeah, it's going to be 65 here on thursday and I don't have work on friday so I can't wait to drive home happily on Thursday blasting Lookers
It's been over 65 three straight days and will be for the next three straight as well. Blasting this album is helping me to cope with our bleak future of accelerating climate change. Also if anyone is seeing the upcoming tour, listen to Rozwell Kid's debut "Too Shabby". What a blast
Yeah, weird weather for Michigan in February. Saturday was the first day I was able to leave my house without a jacket since October. This record is going to be a good one to on walks with, which I did yesterday.
Man, who thinks Charlie's Army is underrated? That may be my favorite song on the album. Such a great vocal melody on the verses.
My top tracks are definitely Your Wild Years Boy Blue House on Fire EDIT: Charlie's Army should be there too. What a jam.
Ugh Your Wild Years Lookers And then like a 3 way to between Midwestern States/The Bars/After the Partying
