I haven't had a chance to listen yet haha. I'm an awful person and I am ashamed. Plus, there are pages of convo in this thread that I just completely missed. Fun fact about the ATP cover is that the guy sitting down is actually just me in the future after I realized the party that is this thread moved on without me. It took a lot of planning and scheduling, but I think it turned out quite nice.
Yeah maybe that's what bothers me so much. Plus I can't stop thinking of Charlie Kelly and an army of rats
Glad they put Bad Catholics in, if only for the exposure it's getting (getting played at NHL games, etc.). Kinda wish Irish Goodbyes got that treatment somehow.
Nah, a newer one, but they originally stated last summer when they played Bad Catholics live that they were gonna try to put it out on a split. I believe Tom did an interview this winter though that said when they sent the record and the b-sides to Epitaph, they wanted Bad Catholics and another one on the record instead.
Well just finished up and that was fantastic. Greg's standouts for me would have to be Tellin' Lies, Lookers, Charlie's Army, and After the Party, Tom with House on Fire and Boy Blue.
Haha that's kinda accurate, although I think there are still some stragglers in here that wouldn't mind keeping the party going.
Don't get that issue with ,, Livin ain't easy" it is my favorite track along with Lookers so far....but ya know...whole thing is amazing!so happy for this
Man, Tom took his songwriting to a new level. On my second listen right now and Charlie's Army or After the Party are my favorites. Charlie's Army is just so damn fun. I love that Greg can write about partying and jealous ex boyfriends in a punk song and still drop a Hemingway reference. Also if you buy the album on bandcamp today, profits go to the ACLU. Super important.
All four of Tom's songs are top notch. Right up there with Lookers, MW States, Your Wild Years, and After the Party for the best songs.
Alright, getting ready to dive in for the first time. Took my lunch and drove to our large city park system. I'm ready.
Tom sings on Ava House which is in my top 5 Menzingers songs so he's cool with me. Thick as Thieves is fantastic as well, Tom sounds great as I've said before
