You're right....damn, that song is legit. Something happpppeeennened on the way to heEEEeeeell, The new guard they took my sister
I got two of the final tickets before it sold out. First time seeing them so I absolutely cannot wait for March 3rd!
The Green Day comparison I've seen a bunch of places is so perfect. Basically, where they could have gone after Warning
Anyone else mishear some lyrics really bad? First time I listened to Tellin' Lies, I heard "Everything is terrible, buying a watermelon makes you feel like a criminal" haha
Review for this is in The NY Times today. Not a small review either so that's pretty cool. It is poorly written but praises the album. The Menzingers’ Ragged Punk Peeks in the Rearview Mirror
i thought bad catholics was "bad catholics, what have we done, when always skipped an apple 'fore communion started" Has anyone gotten a shipping notification from Kings Road?
I did. Originally said that it would show up next week but looks like they overnight aired it and I'll get it today.
Lol thrice fans ranked albums literally the day tbeitbn came out, at least this leaked 4 days ago... but yea it's way too early to rank something. At least wait to release day!
Not sure where it'll rank with the others but there's definitely some top tier tracks in here. Your Wild Years is my favorite atm
Nice! Do u remember what shipping method you chose? My expected delivery date is next Wednesday as of this morning, and I'm hoping It comes sooner than that.
I think just the standard shipping. It shipped from CA and I'm in MI so I don't know if that impacts how/when they ship it.
This sounds fine but I wouldn't say the production makes me like the record any more or less. I think Yip has improved and I don't really have any complaints about the production but fantastic is a stretch here. Agreed. One of my favorite menz songs.
Interesting, hopefully I'm in the same boat then. I chose media, which I believe was standard. And mine is shipping from CA to MN
I already know this my favorite album from them. Just in the sense of a how consistent it is and the content it covers lyrically.
Right now, this is the least I've ever latched on to one of their albums at its release (well, since I've been following them with OTIP). There's a few songs that I really like, but overall it's not sticking with me. I think sometimes the lyrics come off like an overblown version of their older stuff, which is fine but I'm mostly not feeling it. Feels weird to not immediately love one of their albums, and even more weird to not want to listen to it constantly. Hopefully it changes over time, but right now this is my second least favorite after their debut.
This is the first album in an extremely long time that on first listen and through more consistent listens I've loved this much right away. Gonna go to my record store after work and hope that they have that red vinyl a day early
It's strange relating with the lamb to the slaughter- Black Mass I’m at your funeral, I’m at the slaughter- I Was Born Maybe another connection I picked up on
Also "No good'll come from stumbling home with the sun" reminds me a lot of "walk home single, seeing double"
"The passing of time has altered Mr. Barnett’s songwriting for the better. What once arrived in raw splashes of energy has been thickened, complicated and smoothed. He even flirts with a touch of abstraction on “Thick as Thieves,” which recalls the power pop-rock of the early 1980s. “I held up a liquor store/Demanded top-shelf metaphors,” he sings." Poor Tom
