Tom's songs are some of the best he's penned in the Menz's entire discography holy moly quality over quantity right
yeah Thick As Theives and House on Fire are fucking QUALITY songs. House on Fire in particular is really something special I think. its very listenable for sure. not great but it doesnt hurt my ears or anything
House on Fire and Black Mass are my clear favorites so far. Can't wait to ride home from work with windows down listening to this in a little while.
Black Mass is like this weird lovechild of Transient Love and OTIPs title track. Its different for them for sure, and its a great curveball. Just single strummed guitar, some chunky bass and pounding bass drum.
Also gonna try and hold out til Friday, (hopefully I only need to wait til Thursday if the record store they're doing the in-store at gives them to us a day early) but man is it gonna be hard.
Toms songs definitely have a political undertone to them. Which I like it gives his songwriting a different flavor than Gregs. Meanwhile these might be some of Gregs strongest melodies to date. Super catchy.
I think the songs already out are enough to placate me till Friday. Hopefully I won't have exhausted them by then.
A little Irish in your blood, a little Polish in your name, a little Boston in your attitude, just the way you were raaaaaaaised
I'm a sucker for songs about the midwest, and Illinois specifically, so "Midwestern States" is pretty much my perfect song.
Just finished my first listen. Oh man. This album is truly something special. If anything manages to top this this year I'll be genuinely surprised
This sounds like an alternative path that Green Day could've taken after Nimrod/Warning. House on Fire reminds me of some of the songs on Shenanigans. This is a compliment not an insult. Green Day vibes all over
