Nothing going to listen to any of these songs until the full record is out - I know I'll kill them before I can hear the rest. I think I hear Lookers once tho - don't really remember
that's silly logic, not everyone wants recordings that are just copies of their live sound. It's a different medium than performance. I don't really like this fade out but It's probably a throwback to older punk records that have a lot of quick fade outs. I like fades when the song sits on a groove and sounds like it can go on forever, then it's like it never really ends
Song fade outs used to be crucial to music videos. Gotta have some time to wrap up that narrative, son.
Rented World is perpetually underrated. I listened to it 3 times back to back today. Super underrated and underappreciated by the fans. Also really shows off some new influences and pushes their sound in some interesting directions.
Rented World is what got me into this band. It made appreciate OTIP a lot more aside from the 4 songs I originally liked from it.
Rented World is my favorite album, and I love CW and OTIP as well. Based on what I know of this album though this looks like it might be my favorite
Also, I loooove After the Party, and my favorite part after the "after the party, it's me and you" part is the fade out, so I'm full of dissenting opinions in this thread lol. Usually I'm not a fan of fade outs but I think that jam is flawless and works perfectly. Had that part stuck in my head all day at work
RW just flexes their influences and incorporates some new ones. There's a little Weezer and even early TBS in In Remission, a shot of Nirvana in Sentimental Physics, Green Day in The Talk, a little Counting Crows in Heartache, Bob Dylan/Tom Petty in When You Died. It's kinda what I hope GA would do with Get Hurt. Oh and while I'm at it Abuse is a really really good debut. Also shows off some interesting songwriting techniques and structures
In Remission sounds exactly like Anywhere With You by Saves the Day to me, always kinda thought the title was something of an homage to "In Reverie"
Yup, it was totally you and I now remember this completely. Amazing! I cannot wait till the April show. I had to miss the Bayside/Menzingers tour in August so I'm craving hard to see them again. They're my second favorite band live, only followed by Frank Turner.
What else was I s'posed tuh, what else was I s'posed tuh DDDDOOOOOOoooOOOOOoooOOoooOOOOOOoooOOOO-ooOOooOOOOOO.
yeah I was really enjoying the song, but more often than not, fade outs just feel like they didn't know how to end the song. sometimes it works, personally I don't think this was one of those times.
fade outs can be so dope as in this song i still haven't heard the title track bc resisting but the discussion makes me really want to
Its really really good, but if I was in your shoes I'd hold out, the album isn't that far away now. Really would love to do that with a release but I have no self control at all.
I await this with the most anticipation. They've never let me down before, and it'll be sweet when I finally hear this
