Yeah, sounds like a full-formed song for me. Definitely has sounds from ATP but Greg introduced it as a new song at the Roger Harvey show andI'm not surprised. To me it doesn't sound like that song came from the same batch as the ATP songs
They did sit on After The Party for while before it got released. It’d be fair to assume they’ve been writing, and it’s been over a year since a full length release. An EP would be great though
And I swear they said they had enough material for a double album with ATP. Either way, a summer EP would be sweet. Also, I like this song a lot.
It's also possible the song was started during the ATP sessions and then fleshed out over time between touring.
They never disappoint! Great way to kick off the day when I'm seeing them tonight. Anyone go to Columbus last night?
I didn't really want to drive up to GR on a Wednesday for this, but I can't pass up the chance to see them in West MI. Were the openers any good? Never heard of either and haven't taken the time to look them up.
Toy Soldiers rips, wish they played it last night Otherwise a super standard set, but everyone on the side stage was yelling for Rodent and they ended up opening the encore with it, which was tight and the only oddball Also - They didn't close with In Remission and it was very strange They were locals! Your will be different be locals but Nnamdi is awesome and Bong Mountain is the best band name so probably good too
So since it was produced by the same Producer as ATP it could have easily been a song that didn’t make the record as much as it could have been something new. I really like it either way. Hope it’s part of something with even more new twists our ears songs.
Not loving this song yet, not digging the vocals much. "These day-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-ehs" does NOT do it for me.
As long as there is a digital release of it too.why not throw another song or two, and maybe a cover in there for fun as well.
I wonder how many completed songs they have from the ATP sessions? Someone said enough to have done a double album. I love it when bands release a bunch of material around an album cycle. Noah Gundersen released White Noise, and months later compiled his b sides and songs that didn’t fit in the record to come up with a second release. Such a tear when bands and artists do that.
Also not sure if anyone has seen them recently or not but it seemed like they were playing all of their songs much slower than usual last night. I didn't mind it but it was just different
