Yeah I don't really get the hype around Casey but I asked around to figure it out and apparently it's because a lot of people relate to the particular experience the song is describing. If you haven't had that kind of thing in your life I guess it just completely misses, and that's what it does for me. I don't dislike it it's just somewhere at the bottom of my OTIP ranking. I really like the fact it's pretty much fictional and Casey doesn't even exist though (works for cwhit everyone knows he's a bot)

I really love OTPP. Sun Hotel 2 breaks my heart like wow, imagine someone straight up telling you "you're an ugly fuck but I'm horny so get to work". Like damn!!!! I really like the Tom demos too even though he was so obviously drunk on the recordings and his songs are all half finished. Ava is a highlight, I love that version. They're chill so they all usually calm me down too, I listen to them when I'm panicked.

 

Mexican Guitars is the GOAT of that album.

After transcribing most of the lyrics I can say this is classic menzo lyrical content, featuring dead friends, the opioid epidemic, loose literature references, sadness & self doubt, and vague political undertones. also it's good

Cool song. It’s cool he plays various new songs at shows like this. At the Riot Fest aftershow he did a new song and asked that no one record it.
