As much as I agree that it's a perfect set closer and a perfect Menzi song, having a set set closer is such a disappointment.

The Bars is probably a top 5 song on the album. The other 3 Tom songs would comprise my bottom 3.

In my experience, if you take the Tom songs out of this album and just got full Greg, it seems off. Not sure why, but I really feel like it wouldn't be quite as good a record if Tom wasn't singing 30% of it

Thick as Thieves and The Bars are the two weakest songs on the album, but the other two are good

Thick As Thieves is an awesome song that had the misfortune of being placed between 2 of the best songs on the album. Like, I found that Tellin’ Lies gets me hyped then Thick As Thieves takes it down just a little bit but as I’m listening I remember Lookers is coming up next so the anticipation for that takes over. As a standalone song though, I love it.

I kinda agree. Although I like when bands use the same song as a closer for a long time and then all of a sudden, they open with it. KAPOW. The rest of the show becomes filled with infinite possibilities.

In my ideal setlist, they'd use In Remission to end the main set and then use After the Party to send everyone home

Sculptors and Vandals and Mexican Guitars should open a set sometime

I disagree I just think he captures a different asthetic. He writes more in the style of bands like bouncing souls and Green Day. I think he keeps the band truer to their punk beginnings but I definitely don’t think he’s a bad singer or songwriter. Actually live he’s way more in tune than greg is.

Both are great and the band wouldn't be the same without both of them. Most of the catchy songs are Greg songs though so I doubt they'd ever be anywhere near as popular as they are without him.

Anyone got a list of who sings every Menzingers song? I have a hard time picking them out on the earlier records.

I'm not sure how one could say Tom sucks when he's got that song, Nice Things and Burn After Writing under his belt and on the same album no less. To each their own, I suppose.

I like every song on OTIP and Tom has not written a good song that is not on OTIP

Ahh fuck I didn't realize Tom wrote "Freedom Bridge". I love that song. I have family that live in Scranton and I know which bridge he's singing about. Such a sad/awesome way to close the album.
