Yeah, thats where this all started for me. I don't think I would've truly appreciateed this style of Northeast storytelling punk if I hadn't been introduced to the Souls as a kid. Legends.
Yep I would definitely say Bouncing Souls and Less Than Jake are the two bands most responsible for kicking everything off for me
The Souls are great (probably my favorite punk band), but I've never really gotten the "Americana" or folk inspired lyrics from them. Like, their lyrics don't scream Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, or Johnny Cash fan to me (with the vivid imagery) even though they probably dig those guys. I guess I sort of see it more in their later material, but I've just never have identified them that way.
Apparently Nick's new band was playing in Chicago the other night downstairs from the Touché Amore/Single Mom's show. Would have went if not for that
The Menzingers announce shows with Tigers Jaw, Worriers & The Flatliners Damn I wish I still lived in jersey
Hmm they’d probably get into OTIP more but they’re probably less likely to listen to CW if you start with that. So I’d say go with CW.
CW the arc they have starting with that one is incredible. I started with OTIP but kinda wish I started with CW
OTIP 100%, because it's their best and if they can get through the first two tracks without being hooked, then there is no hope.
