The beginning scared me because of the Yip sounding production but the vocals are clear throughout and this rips because the menz rule.

 

I was so mad at first haha

 

This sounds pretty great. Vocals seemed a bit quiet in the chorus but maybe my ears just suck.

 

Same but like...I still don't think it sounds good as a whole

 

Yeah im only on my 3rd spin, but it sounds a little washed out.

 

Yeah washed out is a good phrase. My first thought was "oh i hope it sounds like this because it's a low-quality stream"

I think it's probably more of a reference to the Waits/ Springsteen song 'Jersey Girl'.

Won't even lie, I love this band but I barely know who sings what songs.

My thoughts exactly. First thing that came to mind when listening was how it sounds like something TGA would write. Lyrics about Jersey girls and all haha.

Pre-ordering this album the moment it's available.

 

This release cycle feels like I felt right before American Slang and Handwritten ... ready for them to become appreciated by a whole new wave of fans.

 

Love love love this. Their songs always give me this weird, heart-overflowing feeling of nostalgia. Can't wait to see it live.

 

I agree about so much in here. Pumped for the album; prefer Greg's songs in general but liked a lot of Tom's songs pre-Rented World; Greg's warbling on Rented World got a little grating; Will Yip seemingly hasn't ruined The Menzingers; preordering asap.

Hoping for lots more self references (without going overboard), love that in music.

 

I've decided I like Handwritten better than American Slang. Can you even comprehend this? Because I'm still trying.

 

How about realizing that Get Hurt is your second favourite Gaslight album? Unexpected, but damn do I love it.
