This was,,,DELICIOUS!! But no, for real it was up there with Top Gun as the most fun I’ve had watching a movie this year. My only gripe is the absolutely unforgivable anti-s’mores rhetoric
Loved it. I kinda wanted it to go more kill bill / ready or not but that’s ok too pretty incredible performances particularly good sound mixing with all the chatter coming in and out of the different people in the first half
yeah i like how flippant/unjustified they were about some of the choices. the only thing i didn't love was the inclusion of the mom. seems like that was just a kind of throw in with not enough background actually given
I liked her being there. They cut to her just enough for her reactions to add to the mood, without being too distracting. Sometimes she helped contribute to the uneasy atmosphere, and other times she just seemed over all that shit (like, the shit of being alive).
Fair enough. I personally think the mystery around her was largely effective and would've been lessened by knowing too much. But, I can see how one would think there's more meat on that story bone worth exploring.
The second this ended my friends all turned to each other and said burgers? Burgers. Pretty entertaining over all. Like the perfect 3/5 movie.
That also leads me to say that that trailer was great. Clearly makes it seem obvious what the plot is but you’d be wrong!
I wasn’t a part of the original conversation, but I didn’t think the trailer was that big of a mislead haha. Like this wound up being pretty much exactly what I expected it to be based on the trailer, maybe save for there not being any cannibalism. Doesn’t make it a bad trailer or anything, no complaints from me, but comparing it to the Barbarian reveal is a stretch imo
Some fun facts prior to scheduling conflicts Emma Stone was originally gonna play Margo The john Leguizamo part was originally Daniel Radcliffe playing himself Alexander Payne was the original director
