I mean, there's people who use this site that have seen it, you could probably just ask them.

Do I really need to waste my day watching all of this shit to remind myself of the disappointment I felt so long ago? Lol def plan on seeing it but not many expectations

Really? I think 1 is great, 2 is okay and 3 is not good. In general I found the second two to be a huge step down. Maybe I’ll change my mind?

you might. the prevailing wisdom about those movies has been very wrong

also 2 and 3 are one movie

Maybe after all these years of excessive over the top action films since, that feeling of this is just “too fucking much” won’t ruin the experience

the freeway scene is such a james cameron-esque constant escalation of action/stakes and somehow eclipses any comparable cameron scene (thinking of, like, the helicopter/truck chase from terminator 2)

My dumb 13-year-old brain didn’t get how great the sequels were at the time they came out. They’re great. The only knock against them, really, is the god-awful CGI.

The Matrix Reloaded was the first R rated movie I got to see in theaters. It blew my 10-11 (whatever it was) year old mind. That's the one I've always loved and defended over the years and didn't realize people didn't like that one until I went online lol

Revolutions was the one I've struggled with over the years but have gained more respect for as time has gone by.

    This franchise rules

not their fault but it is amazing how quickly tech progressed, Ghost Rider was only like 15 years ago and it feels like a lifetime in terms of Marvel movies

Diving deep this weekend. So far rewatched the first one, The Animatrix and the 2001 documentary: "The Matrix Revisited"

Now going to rewatch Reloaded & Revolutions... and will look for any other ancillary docs/materials I can find or podcasts leading up to Wednesday

Sorry if this has been discussed to death but as someone who has seen maybe half of the first film, should I watch the trilogy(?) before the new one? I’ve heard numerous jokes about the third (I think) and how bad it is compared to the first two but idk how true that is or if time has made people look back on it better but as someone with no feelings tied to the first I’m assuming I wouldn’t hate it…?

watch them all. The first is an all-timer and the second and third are good and fun.

I highly doubt you’ll have any idea what’s going on in this one if you haven’t seen the entire trilogy

I’m just gonna read the plot synopsis of 2 and 3 before I watched this one. Rewatched the first over the summer and didn’t like it.

Why bother with a part 4 of a movie you didn’t care for?
