assume it's either flashbacks or she's brought back via a computer program. can't see another way they can do it. Neo isn't as cut and dry but even bringing him fully back will take some doing but seemingly easier given his powers/importance/idea that the one will reappear again

The first Matrix was good, the other 2 were trash. Not getting my hopes up.

Judging by pretty much everything else they have made, the Matrix was the fluke. This seems like just going back to the well and capitalizing on nostalgia and Keanu Reeves' golden age. Neo literally became Jesus and saved the world; the machines and the humans finally made peace. It is going to be silly.

Matrix 2 was the best one

So clearly it is the odd number ones that have a little trouble at least, 4 is an even number it will be phenomenal.

I was totally captivated by this series when it was releasing. I don't think I've watched one of them since Matrix 3 in theaters. I've got a buddy who has them on 4k blu-ray; I may just borrow his set here on my off days coming up.

I haven’t seen any of them in forever but wasn’t there something about how this iteration of Keanu being The One like the sixth or seventh time the machines and everything have gone through that? Seems prime for a reboot or another entry of him truly finalizing everything.

Idk, it’s all a muddled mess in my head since it’s been so long.

    1 is a masterpiece.

2 has some incredible moments but gets too sucked into its own mythology.

3 is the worst one because most of it takes place in the real world, which is actually really boring.

You're not a teammate on my team

I always admired the story of JRR Tolkien abandoning a sequel to the LotR as a story not worth investigating and, while I love the Matrix films dearly and am admittedly excited for this, part of me wishes Lana Wachowski would leave well enough alone.

Here is what Tolkien said about writing a continuation of LotR:

I did begin a story placed about 100 years after the Downfall, but it proved both sinister and depressing. Since we are dealing with Men, it is inevitable that we should be concerned with the most regrettable feature of their nature: their quick satiety with good. So that the people of Gondor in times of peace, justice and prosperity, would become discontented and restless — while the dynasts descended from Aragorn would become just kings and governors — like Denethor or worse. I found that even so early there was an outcrop of revolutionary plots, about a centre of secret Satanistic religion; while Gondorian boys were playing at being Orcs and going around doing damage. I could have written a 'thriller' about the plot and its discovery and overthrow — but it would have been just that. Not worth doing.

Funny enough The Matrix Online hints at humans creating a New Zion in breach of the truce with the Machines, commencing a Second Machine War.

  25. I saw the third one in theaters and I’m pretty sure I was on the edge of my seat during the ending.
