The sequels and Cloud Atlas are bad. I forget what involvement they had in V for Vendetta but that was bad too. The original Matrix is the only good one I've seen.

 

Bound is very good. I actually haven't seen anything after Revolutions yet

 

I loved Cloud Atlas, but I must admit reading the book first definitely helped.

Sense8 was the trans representation I needed before realizing and coming to terms with my own gender

 

Bound is fantastic, maybe their best.

 

The only movie I’ve enjoyed from them is the first Matrix. Haven’t enjoyed any other movie or episodes from shows they’ve made.

 

Bound is so fucking good

 

I need to watch more Wachowski stuff than I have, but based on what I have seen (in part or in full), I have a hard time imagining them making something boring. At least to my current sensibilities? And, if so, I count that as a win.

 

Unrelated to that thought, but relevant here nonetheless:

 

Rewatched the trilogy over the last week + listened to the Blank Check eps and I think I kinda like the sequels now

watched The Animatrix for the first time tonight

some of those shorts were really fucking creative and cool. the tie-ins to Reloaded were nice too. pretty great stuff all round

 

Animatrix is fantastic

 

yeah, for sure. it kinda lost me with a few of the middle shorts like Program and World Record, but it picked up massively right after. Beyond and Detective Story especially might be some of the best Matrix content out there

I watched it last week. My favorite by far was the samurai one.

I'm pretty sure that one is "Program" haha

 

Beyond was the one I liked least

 

damn, Beyond actually blew me away! different strokes

I was digging the Samurai Jack vibes in Program but the last-minute twist was pretty underwhelming and killed my excitement for it a bit. it certainly wasn't bad

 

morpheus isn’t actually younger, there’s just more pixels in the new matrix, so he’s not as blurry now
