Relistened to valuables by enemies this morning. Such a great album

 

Enemies were the SHIT. Some of my favorite drumming ever is on their records.

I watched the little signing video they threw up on Youtube and it only featured Yvette and the bass player so I guess Forrest Rice is only a touring member of the band. bummer, one of the absolutely very best drummers I've ever seen play live

 

the video i watched had him in there talking about recording. he wasn't sitting with them in the very beginning but he was in there, so who knows?

 

huh i have no idea why I didn't notice that the first time around. Anyways, extremely stoked that he's seemingly playing drums on this album, he elevates them so much

 

This is going to rule

 

I have yet to check out Mouse On The Keys, despite hearing their name for a number of years. Doing a song with a member of Chon piques my interest even more.

 

they are the coolest fucking band. 2 keyboard players and a drummer, and then a host of revolving other musicians on some of their songs.

I'd listen to their discography chronologically, so Sezession (EP) --> An Anxious Object (LP) --> Machinic Phylum (EP) --> The Flowers of Romance (LP) --> Out of Body (EP)

there's also a split with LITE in there, they're kind of like the Japanese version of Chon

Chon put a LITE song on a Spotify instrumental playlist and I was into them as well.

 

one of the dudes from Fang Island has a new project. not really math rock though.
