Okay, a resounding 3 more people showed up to my screening. This is my childhood theater and it used to be a shit hole. Now it has recliner seats. I’m kicked back and relaxed.
This was a ton of fun. Kamala steals the show as expected. Actually felt like it had purpose and direction unlike the last few.
But it’s also really corny in a lot of ways that comes off either charming or offputting depending on your tastes.
This was mostly good to great. 3 leads were awesome. I actually felt invested to where it was going. It’s almost impressive how dumb marvel villains are though.
Other than no way home this after credit scene is the first time I’ve felt anything positive towards any of this multiverse nonsense
Doubtful. There was a leak saying her character was being changed into a CIA agent with no connections to Mossad
I don't think they'll keep her comics origin for the adaptation, and they've said as much in response to criticism. I am, in this current climate, interested to see what they do end up doing though.
At that point might as well choose a different character and leave Sabra in the comics. It's not like she's a character people are asking for. I don't mean that in a bad way, but the weight that comes with Sabre might not be worth it. High risk, low reward.
I really liked this. Had a ton of fun. Even though Guardians 3 is a better movie, I’ll probably end up rewatching this more often just because of the fun factor. Only big complaints are the villain, which I think could have been good with a few small changes, and Kamala’s Dad making a grooming joke given the allegations against him. Really poor taste.
This was fine. Not bad at all. I have some small complaints though. Felt more like a Disney+ show than a movie. Probably would have been better as one. Fury had no reason to be in this, you could have cut all the SABER scenes. I liked the ideas presented and all 3 leads were good I just wish they had more to do. Villain was really under developed though.
Also, I’ve never seen a theater complex as a whole so empty especially on a marvel release day. There was maybe 10 people in our showing. But the building itself was completely empty. Haven’t seen it like that since the time it was literally just me and my cousin at Final Fantasy
I really hope this isn’t the last we see of Brie as Captain Marvel. It’s bad enough she’s gotten all the hate she’s gotten, but those assholes are going to use this bombing to fuel their fire. She deserves better
