I would say this is more pop-adjacent than pop. It feels more easy-listening jazz as a whole with pop elements.

 

this. I have tixs to Philly, but depending on setlist for the first few shows I may bail. Just because its a weeknight and my following day at work is meeting heavy. Adulting sucks

Vinyl arrived today. That price is insane for what is essentially a shiny cover. Anyways, it sounds great. Clouds Hill puts a ton of care into the quality of their vinyl output. My Volta boxset, this LP, and the Omar Clouds Hill recordings are the best sounding records I own.

 

What are your thoughts on the album? I know you’re a huge fan of them so I’ve been wondering what you think beyond your positive first impression.

 

unfortunately haven't had time to listen a second time yet, so my first impression is my only so far!

I want to know the setlist to see if its worth going to a show on a worknight LOL. Also curious if they will have tour posters.

I'll definitely try to find time eventually to listen, do they mention at all if the band is essentially back for good and planning to keep making new music?

 

Nothing specific but they both seem really happy to be back to Volta. Omar seems a lot more interested than he was from like 2009-2012 with the band.

that setlist is so much better than i could have hoped for, just wish there was a song from bedlam on there. i wonder if it will stay the same every night of tour? watched some live clips... the band is sounding super tight and cedric sounds seriously amazing, the best his voice has sounded in 10 years for sure! i'm soooo hyped to see them in seattle next month!

 

Holy crap the setlist is epic. I hope they don't change a single thing before Tuesdays Philly show.

 

Mostly happy with that setlist. I wish Teflon and a couple from Bedlam could have made it, but that’s a strong setlist for my first time seeing them. Love how heavy they’re going on De-Loused, which is my favorite from them.

Can’t wait to see them in Philly on Tuesday!
