Kinda glad it’s not Jeff Jordan, wish it was something more in the vain of nocto. That is a great cover
That's an average of like 3:20 a track. Looking more likely the singles are going to be representative and this will be a radical departure in terms of complexity/structure even from Oct and Noct.
Neither of the singles suggest poppy or accessible to me: just shorter and different from previous volta material.
I’ll give you bronze. Maybe silver. But September 16 is technically not “by” September or else we’d be listening to this record sometime next month!
Hmmm you drive a tough bargain my friend. It's not "before" September, but it's also out before September ends ( wake me when), so with your logic... "before" and "by" are the same word eh? eh????
Thank you for doing the Green Day reference because I considered it and then I was like “no, I don’t WANT to always think Green Day when I write ‘September.’” Be honest: when you said by September, you were thinking August. Perhaps you even told yourself maybe even end of July “if things really go my way!”
If you couldn't tell, I've been going back through my favorite Omar albums recently, and other Omar/Cedric stuff, before the new album comes out. Old Money is very highly recommended, it's maybe the MOST TMV-sounding of his solo albums, and if you believe what Omar's old label Stones Throw said... the majority of this album actually was created to be the follow up to Amputechture, but then abandoned in favor of the direction they took with Octahedron. The gang's all here with Omar, Juan, Marcel, Adrian, Deantoni on track 1 and Jon Theodore on tracks 3 and 7. Cedric even drums on track 2 for some reason. Anyway, my point is that this album is pretty great overall. If you just want to dip your toes in, I think the best tracks are "The Power of Myth" "Family War Funding" and "Old Money"
This is the most obvious one, but if any TMV fan hasn't heard Cryptomnesia, then what are you even doing?!?>!
Half Kleptos, Puny Humans, Shake is for 8th Graders, Paper Cut, Elderly Pair Beaten With Hammer, Warren Oates are among Omar/Cedric's best for sure
The way they are all one long track is pretty killer. I think Puny and Shake are seamless together too. I think there's only really 5 or 6 full suites if you count them seamlessness of them
