There’s definitely a chipmunk-sounding harmony at times on Bedlam. I think it’s a combo of him hitting a really high note and them adding an effect. It doesn’t bother me too much though, just adds to the weirdness
Lol I get it. Amp and Bedlam both do this occasionally, not sure what the reasoning behind it is, cause it has to be an effect or something.
the first few minutes of the opener on Bedlam definitely grate my brain a bit. combination of that vocal effect and the album being mastered loud as hell, it's... a lot. after that song it doesn't bother me as much
Just some fun trivia, one of these was the proposed key art for Amputechture, from the same artist who did De-Loused and Frances, but the band rejected it
those are dope as hell. I like the cover as is but those would've been sick too. I wonder if they used those covers if that album might've received a different response. People don't give that album enough credit. It's them at their most spooky and at other times their most whimsical. The guitar parts on that album are literally insane.
After living with it for so many years, yeah the existing cover is the only one that makes sense. That being said, I think these concepts totally would have worked if it's what we knew from day 1
Would have loved more of Storm’s artwork to grace their albums. No idea why they moved on from him really
Those alternate covers are pretty cool! Storm Thorgeson covers are some of my favorites. The actual cover is also tight.
