I’ve got all of those and of my Amazon order for the box set is fulfilled, I’d consider selling them to you.
This is just typical. I finally picked up de-loused gold variant and Frances the mute black for £120 each. Still going to try and buy the box set though. Haha. What do we think these will be going for on discogs/eBay? Haha
Well, I was on the fence about picking up the box set since I already have deloused and Frances. However, I checked banquet records just to see if they were carrying it and they were. There was only one left so it was meant to be. Haha.
Yeah I actually went with Bull Moose. They were in left accepting 5 preorders but I was first through. Total came out to be $469 even. Pretty pleased.
very nice little interview, it's so entirely on brand for Omar to have NEVER listened to these albums since release until now, lol
cannot justify paying for this but it's got me spinning their discog for the first time in... honestly ages first two albums are untouchable
Nice one. Mine came to £397.99. At least this way I don’t pay extortionate amount on postage and customs either.
there’s some relatively cheap copies of the single on Discogs fyi - I just picked one for $35 the other day
I always thought the title track felt like a b-side, TBH. I don't like it as much as any of the songs on the album.
didn't they want a double album but Universal vetoed that so they had to cut something? not sure how they landed on the t/t and not the five minutes of frog noises but that's TMV for ya
"The album was initially slated to have six songs, however the title track "Frances the Mute" (which was going to be the first song) was left out due to time constraints. The lyrics for the title track still appeared on the inside of the CD jewel case tray, while the song itself was released on "The Widow" single. The ending of "Frances the Mute" reprises the album's bookend, "Sarcophagi" filtered through radio static."
IIRC there was some contract fuckery from Universal too. Which I believe had to do with why Cassandra Gemini was split into sections...or else Universal argued it would be an EP and wouldn't fulfil the album requirement in the contract
lol Universal fucked up so much huh "Frances" going straight into "Cygnus" would have been unbelievably good jesus
Yeah that's definitely what happened with the CD release, it was broken into arbitrary sections because they would get paid different royalties if it was an album versus an EP, and that was soley based on number of tracks. Prettty dumb.
