Overall I love drumeo but these videos usually fall flat because the drummer tries to serve the song instead of the video. I want to hear them do dumb fun shit that a real band wouldn't never let them get away with.

 

this one was less of an example of this but a lot of them just strain credulity. you haven't heard Mr brightside before? why are you lying to me?

It’s a shame they aren’t really promoting it. I hope the leak didn’t, like, devastate them or that they aren’t proud of the album or something. Just a very strange rollout although knowing them perhaps they just aren’t interested in new fans and know that the fan base will support them.

The Deftones tour was the promotional plan. I feel like actual fans of The Mars Volta might not have enjoyed this rollout, but as someone only tangentially interested in the group I had quite a bit of fun hearing nothing about this for months and then hearing all of it at MSG.

 

I'm just really excited for the new album. I haven't heard it in full yet. Hoping the preorder ships soon.
