Yeah Noct is for sure #underrated

One of my favorite parts of the reunion tour. That song absolutely slayed live

There's a poster on reddit who consistently shares somewhat inside info on TMV, though not verified, I think most of this is likely to be true:

- The band spend a lot of time in the studio before the big 2023 tour, then additional sessions in the fall of 2023
- This album was mostly recorded after the 2022 US tour and before 2024. Vocals and some final layers may have been done after this.
- This is the full, finished album although the leak is 128kbps and "sounds like shit"
- The band and label are aware of the leak
- "this is the album they were trying to make with self-titled," whatever that means
- It's not Adrian on sax, it's Leo Genoese

 

Yeah, I'm glad I only listened to half of it. These songs are super dense and the leak quality isn't good enough. Really excited to hear these at full power

Shitty 128kbps leak months early has to be the worst case scenario for artists. Most fans (meaning me) don't have the self control to put it aside, so it'll get a million listens until April, but it's an unfair representation of the real product.

 

After one listen, I decided I do want to wait until it's actually out. The audio quality bugged me enough that I really want to hear it in full quality next time I listen

 

I didn’t find it that bad honestly. But yeah I can’t wait to get the full depth of it on the turntable or some high quality headphones

Cue the sun reprise almost reminds me of the amp days. This album is super dope and getting better with each listen. Can’t wait to see some of these live in a couple weeks.

 

don't know if I want to hear this yet especially if the quality isn't great, but I just realised I never heard the acoustic version of s/t. gonna spin that now

OK so tbh I wasn't sure this even topped S/T on first listen... just cause nothing immediately grabbed me like Blacklight, Que Dios, or Flashbacks. But it's starting to click, and there are def already more tracks I'm drawn to in some way than S/T.

Starting to agree with the Noct comparisons too, but it's subtle, since this one is a lot more ambient and less dense/layered.

 

Are we sure the leak is the final mix?

If it’s YouTube I would just assume it has been run through AI tbh

I’ve listened to the album a handful of times but I’m done until the album is out (or an HQ rip)

 

I don't think ai could play drums like that.. sounds like Philo

 

I kinda fell asleep partway through, I was exhausted lol. what I did hear was super sick, Shore Story acoustic especially was great
