Right. It's fine to have Din interact with a lot of these other characters from the canon in one-offs (where it makes sense) but I don't want this show to just become live action Rebels either.
It’s hard for me to get emotionally invested in live action Ahsoka considering RD plays her. Also, I really dig Grogu as a name .
yeah it was extremely disappointing to not be able to enjoy her appearance in live action because of RD
Does eckstein not have live action experience? Edit: she has some early in her career. Those teen comedy shows.
I can never spell Ahsoka‘s name correctly lmao. I think this is pretty fair, but I am really looking forward to some SW film/tv that is away from this timeline (in fairness, I’m pretty excited for Kenobi) This season also just feels a little stilted and side questy for my liking. We’ll see how it holds up once the series is complete.
There have definitely been rumors, but nothing more than that. I could definitely see the villain shifting from Gideon to Thrawn in later seasons. As long as it keeps things from the perspective of Din & Grogu, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
You what could be interesting? Din wanting to learn more about the force so he can try to teach Grogu himself.
Eh - disagree completely. If you want to watch a story about someone learning how to use the force theres literally a saga of movies to watch lol
It will have to end with baby yoda still being baby yoda, which means he will probably stay mostly useless. Who tf would want angsty teen yoda
I just think the show is moving farther and farther away from what it was originally pitched as: a samurai/western-influenced story about a Mandalorian bounty hunter making his way in the SW universe 5 years after the fall of the Empire. Also, the show needs to pick a lane. Either it goes all in on being a procedural and acts as a "problem of the week" series, or it goes full serialization and tells a continuing story. The way it's been up to now, with one foot in each lane, is getting more and more irksome for me. Spending the first five episodes of the season doing side quests only for the last 2-3 episodes to actually pertain to the main plot isn't a satisfying way to structure a series.
Idk, i feel like the side quest pertain to the main plot and don't seem to mind it as much as others.
agreed with the former. and I’m starting to agree with the latter - it doesn’t help that a clear formula has been established. It’s like I’d give this show about a 6 or 7 out of 10 thus far except for it hits the nostalgia reviewers tilt with all of the legitimately well done SW world vibes and costume design. I have a blast watching it but I’m frustrated by it still.
It's an astoundingly well-made show, truly it is. The craftsmanship on display in every single episode is staggering. Everyone working on this show off-camera should be extremely proud of what they do.
also sometimes this feels crazy high budget because of all the crazy cool set design and effects - but also low budget at the same time because of some of the bad acting
Pedro, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte in season 1, and then a bunch of the guest stars like Esposito, Olyphant, and Taika are the only good performances on the show.
