I would want Rex because he would be a perfect ally to help Mando navigate the things he doesn’t understand yet about the force/the Jedi to aid his quest, but wouldn’t Rex be too old (dead?) in this timeline? It’s gotta be Boba
He’d be twice Bobas age. About 80. Morrison himself is around 60 I believe, right in the middle of both.
What’s crazy is that all day long I was thinking about how we have never seen podracing and it would be cool to see that again. Then I get home from work and watch the episode and see the marshal riding on Anakins old podracing engine
Solid premiere. The last 10-15 mins were fantastic. The effects were incredible. Really enjoyed Olaphant. It was a fun call back to the Afternath series, but also just good performance. I kind of wish Pedro’s performance were a little closer to his. He felt pretty wooden a lot in this episode. Some of the call backs were a little on the nose, but not too distracting. Im not overly excited for Boba, but have faith he will be handled well. I think there are some interesting dynamics that could play out between him and Mando. Also, were they on Mandalore at the start? The graffiti on the streets looked a lot like the Mandalorian style from Clone Wars/Rebels at the start.
A couple of other things I loved: sand people riding in single file to hide their numbers and the way the flight of the jet pack looks. So not graceful but realistically how I would imagine it would look
Probably the thing I liked most about the episode is how it felt like playing the krayt dragon mission in KotOR
After feeling so good about last week's episode, I can't help but feel like this is one was filler, like a lot of the episodes in season 1. I just feel like if you need filler in an 8 episode season, then shorten the season. Side note: I didn't find The Child eating the eggs to be cute at all. Especially since they were trying to get us to feel sympathy for the woman as she was trying to keep her line from going extinct. Came off a little cruel or unnecessary if anything.
I kinda appreciated it. It shows The Child can be a bit savage. Also, they need to put a warning about spiders
I really enjoyed the episode despite it not being as big as chapter 9. I’m cool with a slow burn of a season and still am fond of the serialized nature. If anything I’d say the flow from 1-2 feels more natural/connected than some of the “one-off” episodes last year and it feels like this will flow into next week’s episode nicely as well.
I always LOVE the Tuscan Raiders. But it feels super weird how they wrote them here. I wouldn’t expect that they would ever intermingle with non Tuscan Raiders much less anybody else in the galaxy would be able to have the opportunity to learn their language. Idk I don’t really like it.
I thought the creatures were cool. I also like that the location wasn't the place everyone thought it was. I'm guessing the water episode will be next. I think I saw those egg things on the ship in the trailer.
I thought it was really good. By no means my favorite, but I think it gave some resolution to Chapter 6, had some new interesting elements, and showed the continued struggle of Mando trying to be a dad. The egg thing reminded me of a little kid being told no repeatedly but still not getting it. I think the last tag should have been dropped to make it seem like he learned his lesson, but I can forgive it.
Kinda weird that her name was Frog Lady. Probably my least favorite episode so far but I don’t think it was bad by any means
