its kinda wack af they didn’t do everything to keep him around. his character was very inspired for SW. it’s that nihilism man - way more interesting than what we’ve seen and heard from the Esposito characters demeanor.
I saw a video claiming that Esposito's character from season one solves Star Wars's villain problem and was pretty baffled by that statement. Especially since Kylo Ren exists. I'm hopeful that he turns into something interesting, but all I really remember is that he knew Mando's name. Herzog's character was definitely the more interesting character. I'm a little bummed he won't be around anymore.
I just watched Season 1 for the first time starting a few days ago, finished the final episode this morning... wow. That’s instantly one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars media ever made. The fact that Season 2 is starting tomorrow has me SO excited!
Nicee! Yeah season 1 is pretty universally loved; season 2 is looking just as good. So stoked for more Mandalorian
I'm in the camp that likes, but wasn't blown away by the first season. But, if it follows the same trajectory as Clone Wars and Rebels, it should only get better. I can't wait for tomorrow.
As someone who thought the first season was/is overhyped, this episode hits and exceeds every single mark it sets out to. Absolutely blown away. This is exactly what I want from Star Wars.
So I guess Timothy Olyphant likes to play marshalls on TV (Justified, Fargo and now The Mandalorian). Glad he was in the new EP.
Gonna peace out from the thread til later today. Right when I get home I’m gonna grab a beverage, and watch!
Fuck yes. Major Tremors vibes haha. To see a live action Krayt dragon was not what I was expecting (loved the pearl at the end, I wondered the whole time if they would include that, brought me back to Kotor). Really enjoyed the Cobb Vanth character and how he came into Fett’s armor. Look forward to seeing him again and I’m really intrigued as to how Boba will be fleshed out. Subtle nods to OT. Obi Wan making the krayt dragon sound to scare the tuskens now makes even more sense. Mando flipping the jet pack switch a la ROTJ. R5 with the busted motivator was a little more on the nose, but still enjoyed it. Above all a really cool adventure and can’t wait to see where it goes next.
Okay, I'm gonna need someone to sync the shot of Baby Yoda riding on the back of the speeder, to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
