this was a fun finale, IG straight up pulled a grandma from dante’s peak. Very excited to see what this becomes in S2.
We are supposed to be getting some Mandalore stuff in Clone Wars. Wonder if it will be addressed in some way how he got the dark saber or at least how Bo Katan lost it.
I’m dead serious, why bring Boba Fett back? Like dude didn’t do shit in the movies and all the cool stuff he did was fan fiction in Legends. Like if that’s the precedent, I can’t wait for Watto and the cantina bartender to show up in season two.
Like all the shit he would do, the Mandalorian has already done so again, why? To appease a legion of Comic Book Guys across the international internet frontier?
going back to the "how do they not know about the Jedi" discussion, I recently watched the original trilogy and the Rebellion people are constantly saying "May the Force be with you." How is that not a pretty overt reference to the Jedi? Like, the Jedi/Sith have always been the only ones to talk about the Force, but we're supposed to believe the Rebellion people don't know about the Jedi and their abilities? And yeah even if that wasn't the case, it doesn't make much sense to think of Jedi as this long forgotten religious order when (1) they were killed off only 20-30 years ago, and (2) prior to that, they spent centuries as the primary muscle/peacekeepers for the Republic
The vibe I got was that not everyone in the galaxy knew who the Jedi/Sith were. I mean, put it in perspective of space, space is a big ass place
Like The Child is a great example, here’s this little being using the Force and people are mystified by it.
I'm counting on Katee Sackhoff showing up next season as Bo-Katan Kryze, as the last owner of the darksaber she's going to want that back. The wait is gonna be killer and I hope to God I can get into the Mandalorian panel at Celebration, they'll almost assuredly show the first episode with the premier being so close to the convention. What a great season of television and I love what a phenomenon it's become.
The vibe I got with Han wasn’t so much that he never heard of the Force, more so that he didn’t believe in it. And thanks to the prequels you can jump to the conclusion that Chewie probably told him about his time with Yoda or something. And Han was probably like “yeah right fuzzball”
Not nitpicking though. I can get past them having no knowledge of the force. Show has been amazing so far.
Chewie didn’t really do much with Yoda imo, he was just there to ensure that he got off the planet and that was that
Wow. This was a wild episode. So much to take in. I loved every minute. The beginning was so amusing. So is the main villain in Clone Wars/Rebels or just the item? What’s the best starting place to watch these, and get some back story, if you’ve never seen them?
The item is in Clone War, since the show deals with the Mandalorians and the Darksaber is a treasured weapon for them. I def recommend starting with Clone Wars since it’s probably the best prequels materiel and is becoming more important canon-wise.
That opening with the Scout Troopers was hilarious. I would now watch a comedy series about bored Troopers breaking rank.
