I enjoyed this one more than most of you. Overall, I've enjoyed the more character-driven episodes (2 & 4) the most. You could tell that Mando enjoyed this way of life and probably would prefer it, but he feels tied to the Mandalorian's because they saved him. So instead he keeps the mask on. My only major complaint with this episode was some of the action was hard to follow in the dark. Loved the extra cuteness from Baby Yoda though. I legit thought they were gonna kill him for a second (though I don't think there's any actual chance he dies in this show). Agreed with @Dodger, this reminded me a lot of those Clone Wars arcs. It also reminded me of the Saw Gerrera quote "one fighter with a sharp stick and nothing left to lose can take the day" since they were literally fighting with sticks haha.
So baby Yoda is a toddler and is 50 years old. Even if Mando did stay and settle down, he’d be dead by the time baby Yoda is a teen
Aside from some eh acting, I enjoyed this episode a good amount. Stuff like this adds a level of humanity to Star Wars that gets overlooked when dealing with all powerful heroes and world ending problems
This episode was really cute, and I liked the Seven Samurai influences. I’m getting kind of bummed though, because we’re introduced to all these interesting side characters, and then they just disappear after the episode ends.
Maybe next week we’ll get an explanation for how the trackers work. Have to imagine Pedro is going to want to try and make it so that the tracking fobs won’t work anymore, right?
So IMDB has Gina Carano listed for 3 episodes, but we have so far only seen her in one - and only has Werner and Carl Weathers listed for 2 episodes and we have seen both of theirs already. I guess that means Werner’s character is no longer part of the story or we wont see him again until S2. I assume we havent seen the last of Carl Weathers in this show.
IMDB is wrong alot too when it comes to casting and their appearances. I can’t count how many times it has been incorrect for the walking dead. I wouldn’t base what may happen off of imdb unless you want to be disappointed.
I kinda thought that as well but also probably wouldnt be shocked if Werner was not a major recurring character
I liked this episode a lot, probably my 3rd favorite. Gave me heavy walking dead vibes tho with the farming/training/oncoming horde.
No way we don't see Carl Weathers again. My guess is we see Cara Dune again this season too near the end.
this has been giving me some samurai jack vibes since episode 2 wonder if the creators have seen that show
Wouldn’t be surprised if baby Yoda gets captured or something of the sort and Mando recruits Cara/Grief/IG-11 to help him save the lil guy.
The show felt like exactly what I wanted out of Star Wars for the first two episodes. It just feels like it's following too much of a format that could get old fast. Everything is just building to a big set piece, then on to the next episode. I think what made Game of Thrones so strong is that it felt like you were building up to those set pieces for weeks. This has me expecting them. The characters aren't feeling very deep. I think his wearing the helmet all of the time hurts that as well. I get that there will probably be some big reveal but it's it gonna feel important? I dunno.
I think my biggest issue with chapter 4 is that the villagers don’t feel very star wars to me. Feels like they could have been in almost any other universe. Nothing distinctly unique to Star Wars.
