The real question we should be asking is when Sabine will show up. This really re-invigorated my love for the expanded Star Wars universe. I wonder what series we’ll get answers about Ezra and Thrawn.
Finally got to this. I agree with all your posts so far @aoftbsten. I cant say Im as over the forest moon about the first episode as most, but I did really like it for a pilot/introduction. The entire end scene was incredible and The Yoda babe made me yell WOW. Even if its obvious yoda wasnt the only of his kind, the fact they are exploring that species and a storyline with it seemingly being the Macguffin in a show like this is pretty mindblowing. The CGI is pretty incredible. The practical effects and puppetry even more so. Seeing the Mando using that gun was awesome. My favorite part though (which I didnt see many talking about on her eyet) was the scene with the other Mandalorian and the melting of that metal becoming his armor. That shit and the promise of exploring Mandalorian culture has me more excited than probably anything. Also so glad hes not Boba. I really thoght that was going to be the big reveal. Definitely felt choppy and a little fast paced, and didnt really move me in the way Star Wars usually does but for an intro Im definitely on board and excited for more. Cant wait to watch again.
We know a character that Filoni created will be appearing, so if not Sabine who would you guys place bets on? Hondo would be my next guess, and if we follow the bounty hunter theme possibly Cad Bane?
Id love either of those two as they are two of my favs of that show but with our luck itll be Meeber Gascon
I know reddit is usually terrible but the show subreddit is already calling the baby Yiddle and I’m in love.
George Lucas came up with that before Disney bought it. When I heard the line in The Clone Wars series I assumed the Mandalorians just wanted to distance themselves from Jango.
Let me go grab my tinfoil hat... I’m betting she’s still looking for Ezra. I don’t think that’s gonna be a short trip. agreed.
It’s just one episode so it’s unfair and totally nitpicking but I’m feeling really contentious right now which is very rare so I’ll say it. I liked the humor in Last Jedi way more than Mandalorian humor so far
I can see IG-11 and The Mandalorian having the same kind of rivalry that IG-88 and Boba Fett had in Legends (not sure if it’s canon anymore). This could be mirroring that.
DOnt wanna click on the link. Is this from the live panel at the premiere they just had. If so I wanna make sure to not watch it
References to the fall of the empire but still acting like it was a somewhat new thing means this is set post OT pre sequels, right?
I feel like Yoda’s species is either in the Unknown Regions or in wild space somewhere and they’re using that to kick off that.
I definitely hope it’s not a clone. I love a lot about Star Wars but one thing I wish the series as a whole would do is not play it so close to the world/characters of Star Wars we already know. There’s an entire galaxy out there to explore and if it is a clone, that galaxy feels a bit smaller and constricted. But if it’s not then it gives the writers a lot of room to venture into unknown, and imo, more interesting territory.
