this sounds dreadful and I can't say i'm pumped for the Starfighter movie. Can I live in the timeline where the Soderbergh Ben Solo movie got made?
That movie also sounded dreadful lol “somehow he survived” is SO played out by Star Wars. Just let dead be dead.
Ben Solo is like the only interesting character from the sequel trilogy other than Rey and Soderbergh is at least an interesting director. I would gladly ignore hand waving why he's alive for some semblance of artistic vision lol.
the idea for the movie could have been him spraying diarrhea into paper bags and i'd see a steven soderbergh-adam driver star war be for real
I'm circling back to this because I don't like the dangling loose end. What I meant is that I was implying you are trying to cope with the idea that this film is not doing well by making up reasons why "no, in fact, it actually is". Doing as well as the worst performing film in the franchise is not a sign that the "normies" are seeing the film. In fact, it's probably much the opposite since the diehards would be the most likely to see this opening weekend.
Mangold doing supposedly KOTOR if that ever comes to pass is basically the only hope i have going forward
it's actually a pre-KOTOR story, iirc, about the inception of the Jedi. as a sociologist of religion, that one has me really fucking excited, but it's unfortunately on the backburner for the foreseeable future.
I think you're assigning a motive that wasn't there in any of the things I wrote. I still think the pat on the head cadence of your reply was unnecessary. Belittling people does not do anything except prove you can't interact with people normally.
I didn't pat your head. I put my hand on your shoulder, an act of commiseration. I am being besmirched!
Theoretically, sure. But Soderbergh and Driver being excited about making a Star Wars movie is easily worth revisiting a character who died in the worst Star War. Feels so obviously different to me than “somehow Palpatine returned.” I gotta disagree with your assessment that those are the only interesting characters. But otherwise, yes.
Poe rules throughout, Finn could be argued to have the best storyline in TFA, and I’ll forever defend Rose as a character with great thematic moments and wasted potential. This movie’s Babu Frik content (or whatever they’re called) did more for me than whatever he did in TRoS.
Took my little cousins to this. Hated it, but I don’t care about Star Wars so I realize I’m not the audience for it. Got a nice ~20 minute nap out of it, couldn’t believe it was still going when I woke up. Way too long. Saw someone online saying it sounded like Jeremy Allen White recorded his lines over voicemail, which is very funny.
"im not my father, jabba the hutt. im my own man. when im free ill be my own man, not my father jabba the hutt. people didnt like me because they thought i was just like my father, jabba the hutt. its not easy living under the shadow of my father jabba the hutt. im going to make my own path and be free and be a better man than my father jabba the hutt."
