Yeah Acolyte was a swing and a foul tip. Would’ve liked it to continue and see if they could get the hit
andor first two seasons of mando skeleton crew most things on this planet or any other acolyte mando season 3 ahsoka obi wan book of boba fett
Took my 5 year old to see this today. We tapped out halfway though and left. She liked it somewhat but she was bored, as the plot went over her head and she isn’t moved by mindless action in movies. I liked it enough but it did feel like a long episode with station-to-station set pieces that didn’t build any kind of interesting mystery or intrigue. I’ll try to watch it again with her when it hits Disney+. Conversely, we watched the Iron Giant for the first time yesterday and we both loved it. I had never seen it so it was a really nice first watch experience with the kid.
This is gonna make 100 million this weekend. I know that goes against a lot of the narrative in here but I knew it would have legs on the long weekend.
At the end of the day, I don’t really care how much a movie makes. Solo’s budget was also roughly twice or more than Mando. Also, domestic wise for the 4 day memorial weekend, it’s going to be very close. Solo did $103 million. Seeing estimate of $94-102 million for Mando. Even if it’s just under, with the global box office, this will probably actually turn a profit, unlike Solo (IIRC). I just got home from seeing this and will likely post thoughts later. But overall, I liked it. Never gonna be a favorite, but I enjoyed it. Far more than I can say about TROS and AOTC. It didn’t have anything that made me die inside like when Solo got his last name.
The film has become my second favourite in the series, with Rogue One holding the top spot. Admittedly, I am not a big Star Wars fan and quite frankly, the further removed from Jedi and lightsabers etc. that these films/TV shows are, I seemingly enjoy them more.
Just considering the industry was predicting 60 million or something earlier this week I think it was notable. It's also got an A- Cinemascore. My point is the normies heard about it, are seeing it, and are liking it.
(puts hand on shoulder) You poor thing. It's okay, you don't have to lie to yourself. We'll get through this together.
Isn’t cinemascore inherently flawed because you’re asking people who were already interested in seeing the movie opening weekend
Saw it a second time with the kids, and I actually think enjoyed it more without having any preconceived notions of what it was going to be and just enjoying the ride. It is a simple fun adventure movie that's ts own thing without being tied too much to other shows. I am a little surprised to see the worst reactions for this on this website. From what I've seen other places around it's generally getting positive reviews from the public
Saw this yesterday after work because the conversations around it interest me. And, like, it’s not good, in the lower end of Star Wars movies, but I liked more about it than I expected, for most of the lead-up, than I would. My core complaints are that it should’ve been under two hours (the back end had the best stuff, but I couldn’t believe the movie was still going). And, the rebel base with Weaver was where it felt the most like a bland TV show. And, the biggest central flaw: Rotto the Hutt fucking sucks shit, my gosh. Replace that core mission with something similar that doesn’t have a distractingly stupid character at the center, and restructure a bit to get it under 120 min… and you’ll have me breezing past the other flaws to call it a charmingly small good time. Ludwig Göransson, Phil Tippett, Martin Scorsese, and Baby Yoda were the stars. Everything else mostly ranged from serviceable to bland, outside of buff baby glup shitto and the cameo from Filoni in his stupid ass hat.
like, I'm cool with a Hutt that kinda bros out/bucks the trend, but holy hell the VA is some of the worst I've heard lmao
First I’m hearing about a Filoni cameo but he’s really not beating the should have been bullied more in high school allegations
