It was s3, but I am specifically talking about celebrity cameos. Characters that make sense to be around given prior story telling doesn’t bother me. It was a character cameo, to be sure, but not distracting the way the celeb ones are.
I really need them to give Grogu some sort of development. Let him be at least a little more capable, or hell, let him learn to speak.
Grogu was more independent in s3. He saved Mando a couple times and was part of the final fight. I do want more of that, but he was not just the baby who needed rescued all season the way he was in 1 and 2. S3 was rough, but I will take the good it did when I can.
The Volume has its good uses for sure, but it has become very apparent that action scenes shot in the volume limit what you can do. Most feel very slow and lack any dynamic movement that would make them engaging.
I think it’s the overuse of it that has caused people to turn on it. As well as when it isn’t as effective for some sequences. If used well, I think it’s great.
Didn’t they use it for The Batman? Specifically for the bat signal meeting place? Or am I misremembering?
Hmm I actually wasn’t aware of that if that’s true. I was mostly thinking of other Disney stuff that have used it like Thor 4 and Obi Wan, which was especially bad imo
Okay, it was used in The Batman. https://gamerant.com/the-batman-mandalorian-volume-technology-create-gotham-city/
Absolutely. I’m sure it comes down to the person making creative decisions and having a clear vision and understanding of the volume to use it effectively. Clearly, Matt Reeves gets it haha
I’ll bite, I can’t think of anything that’s used it besides Mando and The Batman so that’s kinda of stretch to say it’s that noticeable.
It’s been used by every Star Wars show as far as I’m aware and Obi-Wan looked like cheap garbage most of the time. Thor 4 and Ant-Man 3 also did not look good
