This episode ruled. Loved all the investigation stuff. Loved Bo at the end. Loved her and Din’s dynamic. This was an episode of Clone Wars come to life. Might be my favorite episode of the series.

Wanted to be mad about the cameos but Jack Black is so charismatic it turned me

Cameos were weird. But I enjoyed the episode outside of them.

I can see how people might not like the cameos but they haven’t bothered me too much. What did bother me was the droid CSI scene. That was a bit much. This was probably my least favorite episode and this season has definitely been the weakest. But there’s also some pros, I’m really invested in Bo-Katan and I also think the visuals have been incredible.

Psssh. Obviously retrieving a mud horn egg was NOT an unrelated fetch quest. The egg symbolizes babies. Mando just met BABY Yoda. At this moment, he intends to hand the asset over to the client. That’s why he has no problem murdering the parent mud horn and stealing it’s baby for the Jawas. To Mando, both the egg and baby Yoda are both just a means to an end. Insanely clever writing tying these things together so it’s not an unrelated fetch quest. BRILLIANT!

    massive LOL

The premiere is easily my least favorite of the season. It was an extended recap for this who didn’t watch Book of Boba Fett.

Yeah this show has always been fetch quests with a slow narrative pushing forward. It’s just annoying cause there’s been several times when it seemed like they were going abandon that and then it comes to a screeching halt and goes back to “i’ll help you, but you gotta do x,y, and z first.”

I think this season has actually been pretty focused, just from a thematic perspective. It’s been about rebuilding and rebirth of Mandalore/their society moving forward.

E1: We see Nevarro moving forward and becoming the society the Mandalorian want to be. We also see the seeds of the past popping their heads up in the pirates and Bo being unwilling to adapt her view of what she wants Mandalore to be.

E2: Din completes his quest to return to his people and Bo sees the mythosaur and it points her in a new direction of being open to change.

E3: We see the New Republic which has people trying to drag it back on purpose and people who fall back because it’s easy and all they know or they’re apathetic. These reflect two ways society can fail as it becomes unwilling to progress or change. Din/Bo are welcomed back into their culture.

E4: Slice of life for what Mandalorian culture is at the time. Bo learning there’s more to this group than what she thought.

E5: Mandalorian culture is evolving as they come out of the shadows to help and become something different then they have been and lots of discussion of what it means to be a Mando.

E6: We see a functioning society that has progressed and wants to change thriving and only being held back by those living in the past. Bo/Din also learn from each other and Bo affirms her thoughts on being a Mandalorian are evolving.

Totaling understand if this isnt working everyone, but this is my read on the season and can hopefully at least provide another perspective.

The next two episodes are directed by Rick Famuyiwa, and Filoni is a writer on next week's episode. Should be boss.

The cameos are a bit distracting but they're such wonderful people that I can't be upset with them happening.

The ending was nice with Bo getting the darksaber back and the responsibility of it falling off of Din, although I would've liked more things with him learning how to use it.

It's a little frustrating that they'll bring something up in an episode and then basically ignore the next one. Hopefully by the end of the season it's all expanded on.

It is feeling like the rumor of Grogu not originally supposed to be in this season is true as he has mostly been an afterthought in most episodes

Yea, I was thinking about the Grogu aspect yesterday. Beyond his duel, he is just kind of there. He did go get Bo in Ep 2, but R5 could have done that on his own.
