Ditto the Rebels love. It's def got the fun blasters and light sabers like everything else, but it's also the show that dives the deepest into the lore in some really wonderful ways.
Rebels is the best. Watch it. All of it. I second doing chronological order for The Clone Wars. I think you should watch all of it. If I had to watch the s5 droid arc, so do you.
I would definitely suggest watching Clone Wars before Rebels too. Especially if you're doing both regardless.
I finally finished watching Clone Wars a couple weeks ago and it was a struggle to get through for me. It definitely got better towards the end, particularly the last 4 episodes, but there are a lot of clunkers in that show. I've now started Rebels and am about 8 episodes in the first season. So far not loving it either but I have heard the first season is by far the worst. This episode ruled and I'm excited to figure out what the overall antagonist and story for this season is going to end up being.
I think everything you said is sort of the general consensus, to be fair. We've discussed this in this thread recently, but Clone Wars being an anthology series means that it has a lot of skippable multi-episode arcs. Some of those arcs were fantastic though. With Rebels, I remember being a little put off by the first part of the story as well, especially coming right off of The Clone Wars (this was before the final season was even made though since it came years later) but it didn't take long for it to really grow on me. It was a great show overall that I really need to watch again.
The rule about needing to win the dark saber in combat is stupid considering Kyber Crystals literally choose the Jedi/Welder and the saber is clearly choosing her over Din. I hope that’s where this season is heading.
felt like we spent a lot of time just going back and forth through the ruins. like, 4 stops on that ledge above the city center felt unnecessary. but that mythosaur was dope and it was tight seeing Grogu being independent.
Could you hook me up with that document actually? I've seen the whole show but I've been introducing my girlfriend to Star Wars for the first time and I do want to include some of the shows but that entire series is pretty daunting
Todays episode was not what I wanted. I don’t hate it, but I just don’t really care about Pershing. I’m also not a fan of the New Republic dehumanizing former Imperials. Taking away their names is so bizarre to me. The problems of the New Republic should be about being spread too thin and being over confident in their defeat of the Empire, allowing space for the First Order to grow enough to become the threat we see in Force Awakens. Showing us that the New Republic is dehumanizing and not using the skills of these people is a very bad look to me.
God i love this show. The shot of Din free falling with the Interceptors in the back made me gasp out loud. Just such a cool show. Those ships gotta be from Thrawn, right?
Sounds plausible to me. Although, I hope it’s not because there was nothing clever about the attack. Anything with Thrawn should always be super difficult for our heroes and possibly have them limping away.
Yeah a strange episode; it's like they knew they didn't have enough material around the rest of Din's redemption journey, so had to fill the episode up with something else, and so they chose some random story from the perspective of Pershing.
And what was the woman's main intention in getting Pershing into a trap? He seemed to be doing just fine in the role he was in, but then the woman basically goaded him into going to the junkyard, just to get him caught in the act
I mean it’s been pretty clear from the beginning that they were going to use this show to get into how Palpatine comes back, Snoke, etc.
