Or to flesh out his character/interact with Din, both of which I personally enjoyed. I could just really love fan service tho
But wouldn't it have been so much better if they had introduced a cool new character to flesh out and interact with Din? A new badass Mandalorian to mentor Din and help him in his quest? And yeah, it sounds like you do! Everyone does to some degree. But there's a line for everyone where, once it gets crossed, it's not enjoyable anymore. This season of the show crossed the line for me.
reading the early pages of this thread speculating about the prospect of a Boba Fett appearance is a trip
Could have been also enjoyable no doubt, I love all the new characters. Much better? Idk maybe. I just don't have the same problem with Boba coming back that you do. I get it tho man, I've had stories go places I didn't want, so I do understand.
Like, the idea of Luke showing up at the end I was totally on board with. They botched the execution with the bad CGI de-aging but the idea itself was cool and made sense. Plus it was just one scene. That's good fan service to me.
Sorry. Perhaps I should have been clearer, for obvious reasons. I thought this was a place for folks to discuss our interest and enjoyment in The Mandalorian television series on Disney+. I am interested and enjoy The Mandalorian. I don’t have many friends that enjoy the show, so I thought I would find a place on the internet to talk about how much I enjoy it. I have enjoyed the discussions in here. However there are some folks in the thread who don’t seem to enjoy the show and seem to enjoy complaining about inane details they didn’t like. Now I would appreciate it if you would keep your asshattery and “for obvious reasons” type comments to yourself. Maybe you should sit this one out then.
my tldr takes on the familiar elements / fan service here 1. Tatooine and other planets: don’t care at all 2. Boba Fett: the story doesn’t make any sense atm but I’m excited by his show maybe being the type of SW gangster show that I wanted this show to be 3. Luke: it makes sense with Grogu but not really at all what I’m personally looking for
cool enjoy the thread then with all due respect and maybe no more bellyaching or gatekeeping when it’s not going the way you want it to for your own good
How about a rankings for Season 2 episodes? 1. The Rescue 2. The Tragedy 3. The Jedi 4. The Marshal 5. The Believer 6. The Heiress 7. The Seige 8. The Passenger
1. The Rescue 2. The Jedi 3. The Tragedy 4. The Siege 5. The Heiress 6. The Believer 7. The Passenger 8. The Marshall
Don’t worry, ranking is just for fun. If you want to prove yourself to be the alpha apex Star Wars fan you can continue talking about why Boba is or isn’t good for the plot lol
Really not trying to start anything with you, but some people like myself like or WANT to like the show but have legitimate issues with it. The thread isn’t called “Mandalorian Appreciation Thread”, so the way I see it anything related to the show is fair game. I’m sure there’s lots of corners of the internet where you can find uniform praise for it. Maybe it’d be better to look for that rather than try to stifle any dissent here, just my two cents
Didn’t they do exactly that with the Armorer in Season 1? Why do it again when it was so successful the first time and you can flesh out a fan favorite character who gets very little development in the OT and has been established to not be dead since 2015 in the Aftermath books? Serious Question: Does this come down to if you believed he was dead prior to the show vs knew he was alive? I expected it was him last season who found Fennec’s body because I already knew he was alive based on Aftermath and his history in Legends, but that may be the piece that’s different if you believed he was dead going into the show. Honestly, I don’t know how I’d react if I didn’t have that history already.
