Something I’m not totally clear on... Gideon didn’t take the Darksaber directly from Bo-Katan by defeating her (as she wasn’t even totally sure he had it) so why does it matter how she gets it back? Just seems like a weird stipulation to me considering it was most likely stolen from her, but maybe there’s another explanation.
We all thought Star Wars was a story about the Skywalkers. The real through-line was secretly Grogu this whole time
Theyre gonna go back and edit grogu into all the movies. grogu is in the cantina, hes in the jedi temple, hes at the battle of endor, grogu actually shot greedo.
They just entirely replace the character of Han with Baby Yoda. He’s a jaded bounty hunter. He gets trapped in carbonite. His son Kylo Ren kills him
This was so great. It was pretty obvious that it was Luke when a single silent XWing arrived, but still really awesome. it makes the most sense that it was Luke. As cool as Ezra would have been, Luke is the strongest Jedi at this time and was leading the next Gen of learners. It had to be him. So I don’t have any complaints with the story at all. Definitely a roller coaster of an episode.
I have no doubt the Obi-Wan show will allude to Grogu somehow, but I hope they use better discernment than to do any more than that. I enjoyed Luke’s feature in this episode a great deal, but it was a very cheap plot device. EDIT: I was overreacting a bit in this take—others have since pointed out why Luke in this episode does make sense & they’ve convinced me. Still don’t care for the idea of BY showing up in the Obi-Wan series, though.
Luke in the episode made complete sense. Why would anyone other than him, who is building a new Jedi order, seek out Grogu? Hate it all you want but story wise it was perfect
For me, personally, with how much great creative talent we know is behind the helm here, it felt lazy.
Ezra or Ahsoka would have made so SO SOO much more sense lol - you can let the audience know theyll probably eventually see BY again in other shows. Now they have to force (no pun intended) a mando/BY reunion and it probably wont feel organic and will probably be sloppy.
I think dropping ahsoka and ezra in the same season would be too much for casual viewers. I dont disagree with the point but I feel like they try to toe the line to keep hardcore and casual fans both happy.
they made a new and great character when they made Grogu. they just wrote him into the wrong time period. it’s ridiculous that it literally always has to incredulously brush up against existing timelines where there’s zero room, despite the writers.
