I think it would make sense for Yoda to be the one considering Grogu is from his species but I’d be fine with any big name Jedi from the past (Anakin, Obi, Mace, Qui-Gon) or someone new and alive like Cal or Luke
I think that story-wise it makes more sense for it to be Luke and I trust Filoni and Favreau to handle him correctly. They're eventually going to tell stories about Luke between ROTJ and TFA - might as well rip the band-aid off now. Also, people can finally get the badass Jedi Master Luke that they didn't get in TLJ (to be clear I love TLJ and Luke's arc there) but would be a chance for some awesome Luke action. I'm fine with anything they do though. I'm sure whatever happens will be handled well and be interesting.
Ugh I just spent $50 on a Grogu ornament. Damn resellers. I should have bought it when I first saw it for $20.
The Halmark one? I saw it in stores and wasn't crazy about it. Much bigger than I expected. I got a Demogorgon instead.
Mine should be some time next week. I’m so annoyed at all the Mandalorian stuff being so expensive due to resellers. I really want a black series Mando, but man they are pricey.
He still could have said that. Just because he knew of Grogu doesn’t mean he would know if he’s still alive.
Had to tell my mom I didn't want any Baby Yoda merch for Xmas because it's all too expensive when the truth is she can't tell the difference between Baby Yoda and regular Yoda.
And even if he did know he was alive it's not like a baby was going to be able to stop Darth Vader. I'm assuming Grogu is still like 100 years away from being a capable jedi if he's 50 years old and still a baby.
how is the Yoda race presumably nearly extinct could you imagine a planet full of the galaxy’s most powerful little space wizards and how unstoppable they would be
I have a hard time imagining Favreau making a major lynchpin character a canon connection. He seems very much like he had a lot of the big ideas for a while (what if Boba Fett met a Baby Yoda) and Filoni seems to be the guy who says “I know a character that connects that could work here”. Someone that will be so important would be a character that Favreau has either known (Luke) or created for awhile (totally new character). I think Kyle Katarn is more likely than Cal Kestis or Ezra.
I think the three options that would make the most sense would be Luke, force ghost Yoda convincing Ahsoka to train him, or a totally new character/a character reintroduced from Legends.
Have we ruled out Palpatine as being the one to reach out to Grogu? He always seems to pop up where he’s not wanted.
Lol I know you're joking but it feels like we're witnessing them working on a clone for Paplatine right now so I don't think he's offically "back" yet, outside of maybe his conscious being sentient on Exegol or whatever
Haha right, I know it’s connecting the dots to that eventual conclusion, so I was halfway joking about Palpatine turning the screws already.
