Just as I expected...Very Third Eye Blind-esque and I love it. There are a lot of jams on this album. Sound of Reverie and How Do You Feel are early favorites.
Oh man can't wait to hear this tonight/tomorrow. Glad it's meeting and surpassing expectations. Will update with my thoughts later
I thought the chorus on Bad Behavior reminded me of the verses from Smallpool's Dreaming but that might just be me
And there's me in the back at 2:30 in the white shirt with my dumb arms crossed like I got something to be mad about
I think Taxi is my favorite song that wasn't released early. The ones they released before the album are some of the strongest tracks on here.
Love this band. Spent an hour or so chatting with them after the Boise show Sunday night, and they couldn't have been any nicer. John signed a shirt for my fiancé and included a "congrats on the wedding" note.. then proceeded to literally ask us details about the wedding, like a totally normal, actually-gives-a-damn sort of interaction. Was totally floored by how awesome all five of them were. Not to mention the show itself was outstanding. Dying to listen to this album ASAP!
First listen I wasn't sure what to feel, second listen I was like okay im getting it, third listen through and it's their best album to date. The album is so strong, its almost a bummer that I listened to the singles so much because it takes away from the true nature of it.
I just listened to this for nearly four hours straight on my drive home from seeing them in Seattle, and man, what a record. It absolutely should be longer, there are only 8 non-interlude songs, but it's incredible front to back. I think Sound of Reverie and How Do You Feel are my favorite non-singles. Great stuff.
Waiting until I can get home and rip a bowl and head out on a night bike ride with this thing. The anticipation is real. Glad the reception in here is positive. What are the interludes like? Are they all related, lyrically or sonically speaking?
I love how seamless the transitions are between songs on this. After my first listen, I think this actually is their best album.
TBH, even after 3 songs...I originally didn't hear the 3EB vibes, but I totally get it now. And this album seems, like they said in their website, a certain album for a certain time. Is this what makes an album timeless? I don't know, but I can already tell it's going to be an album I'll listen to in 5 years, and feel exactly as I feel this year. I think that, in an essence, is what make an album a standout in an individual, and what makes music something that connects the human race. Thanks. 8213
First listen thoughts: The album feels very cohesive, everything flows really well but without exactly bleeding together. Some great hooks, and separates itself from their rest of their catalogue while still feeling familiar. I loved American Candy, but was not expecting this to do it for me. Nice and concise, feels good, and is going to be a great summer record. Lonely into How Do You Feel? was the highlight for me.
I'm liking this a decent amount. Continues the trend of me liking every other album they put out. Sounds to me like a better version of what they did on American Candy.
